I swear....this is so "PC"...I think its time we kick out the ninnies in managment and turn the parks back into what they'r supposed to be:Entertainment, not politics or sensativity

Exactly minnieluvzmickey. This sounds like it should be on the rumor board.

Speaking of being 'non PC'...Disney is for kids. If you want adult entertainment...go elsewhere. I applaud Disney for making these changes (if they are).

WRONG!!!!!!!!!! Disney was designed for EVERYBODY!!!!!! Kids and Adults. Walt had a part in the Disneyland Pirates attraction(which has a even more intense feel than the WDW version). The theme parks are not a place to watch the kids play, but a place for everybody to play.

Why would this manager tell you they are going to change your two favorite rides both at the same time. And the cave scene especially in POTC? Were they pulling your leg maybe?

...that some people can't be entertained by simple and innocent things. It is sad when you think that being 'scared' is the same as being 'entertained'.

It's kind of like all the 'adult humor' that seems to have invaded our children's films. If you want adult humor...don't watch children's films.

Some of us still think that 'fun' can be sweet.

This is my thing:

You go to an amusement park to be..amused...same reason I go to WDW/Epcot/MGM..to have a great time and to put my cares away....I like to be scared and amazed as well...im just saying that in the past few years,WDW and Disney,in particular, have become a bit political..one case in point: Pirates...They took out a pirate chasing a woman because some "Special Interest Group" got "offended" because it "inferred" an act. All im saying is..where does it end? I mean, these are the same people who cowtowed to President Hillary for her husbands haircut in "The Hall Of Presidents". Whats next? Reagans going to be removed because he was unpopular to mike eisners socialist elite friends? I apologize..but it just bothers me that walts dream and vision is getting trashed by political correctness.

STILL WRONG!! It's not making something scarier, it the mystery-factor. The Leota tombstone at HM and the storm sequence in POTC trigger one's imagination.. At night when we ride these attraction, my wife cuddles up to me when we go through those sections. Mystery and romance are related. I love things that are innocent. I would not want them to darken the theme at Journey into you Imagination with Figment and I do not want the Pirates and Ghost to start singing "It's a small World" either.

I hope the audioanimatronics are not reading this forum. Just as a precaution, if one of the Pirates points his gun your way. DUCK!!!!(I notice you are about to leave for the parks.)

Heck yes mystic, this is what im talking about...Keep the mystery and fun-scary in the attractions..leave your real world cares behind and enjoy the show is what I say!!

And, I like it when my GF gets close when the thunder cracks and booms in pirates..I get a smooch :)

I didn't mean to start a 'board fight'...just thought I could voice my opinion too.

Food for thought...when Disney changes something b/c someone else wants it changed...it is 'political' and 'cowtowing', but if they change if b/c you want it too...it's okay.

For the record...my 6 and 8 year olds don't need to confuse mystery with romance...or try to sneak a kiss on a ride. That's not entertaining to me...but that's just my opinion.

One true statistic is this. The attendence at POTC in Cal. is MUCH higher than the one in Fla. One quality that these attraction must keep is their theme. Pirates of the Caribean is about a cursed treasure. The POTC in Cal. is actually more fucused on that aspect. It is really neat.

Also for the record...we love POTC. It's the same as when my husband saw it as a child. I don't have any problems with it. We don't do HM or the scary Snow White thing b/c...well...we don't 'do scary', but we do love POTC.

Also...this may not even be true.

DS went to WDW for the first time at 3 y/o...and what was his favorite ride--PoTC!!! I don't find that ride scary at all and neither did my kids.

Now Alien Encounter is another story. I think it's very scary so, we won't ride that until my kids say they want to. I rode it first to see how scary it was.

One of DD's fav rides since age 9 has been HM. She said it wasn't scary, it was cool!

Everyone's interpretation of a ride is different. That's why they need all different types of rides.

If something is too scary for small children...then don't ride it.

If something is too "liitle kid" for older children...then don't ride it.

I must respectfully disagree. The wonderful thing about WDW is that there is something for everyone (kids, adults, seniors) If WDW is just for kids then why is it the honeymoon capital of the world?

If they start altering all the rides to be more kid friendly they are going to alienate a huge section of their adult audience. Not everyone has children. And *gasp* some children do actually like thrilling attractions.

And I thought the trolls were in Norway?!?!?!?!?!?!

To revamp those rides as stated by the OP would be business. With lower attendances my feeling is that Disney wouildn't not do something to further affect crowds.

These rides have a huge following and the staff to handle the overwhelming amount of letter, email and calls would need to be a large one.
