We are headed to the World next week, staying @ CR, hoping storm "Ernesto" stays out of our way...

Anyways, I just booked a 3 night stay at WL(Dec. 16-19). There were no FL resident discounts for my intended dates(14-17) so I changed.
Now, they only had courtyard view...The CM said it was a very pretty view :confused3. Is it? What is the courtyard view? I was hoping for a lake or woods view.

Our courtyard view looked out onto the pool and bay lake with was gorgeous. Let me see if I can figure out how to post a picture.

Congratulations! WL at the holiday time is so special, particularly if you like cozy and rustic. The mammoth fire place and huge tree in the lobby is really breathtaking! WL is a very popular resort in December.

Courtyard view is either of the main courtyard (overlooking the pool and the lake), or it could be a view of the courtyard between WL and the Villas @ WL (view of pool and probably a view of some of the lake, off to the side ---- this used to be one of the woods views, before the villas were built). WL is lovely, and either view would be fine. The main courtyard would probably have a more direct view of the lake and the Electric Parade in the eve, so you might want to request this. It's also possible this might be a bit noisier because it's overlooking the main pool, but I wouldn't expect it to be too problematic in December.

Picture a "U" shaped building (kind of), with the main courtyard in the center of the U, and the other courtyard off to the right side of the U.

We like to be higher up, to give us a better view of the lake. If you're in the lower floors, you might be looking out at trees ---- which isn't a bad view --- but we like the lake.

Courtyard view is the most expensive, so you can continue to try for a woods view if you'd like.

Hope you have a great trip!

Thank You! Which floor do you recommend to have a lake view? I believe someone posted a picture here earlier, which is 7th floor? They had a nice partial view of the castle.
I will call to make that little request, hopefully I will get some pixie dust my way.

I'd recommend at least 4th floor (I believe the lowest floor in the center courtyard might be 2nd floor). Be aware that some of the WL rooms have semi-enclosed balconies. They're nice and cozy, but don't let much light in the room. And some of the balconies have wood slats instead of open grillwork...... this is all part of the beautiful decor, but we prefer the traditional balconies. We spent time on the balcony and like to be able to see out when we sit down. But if you're there for a short trip, you may not care abut this at all.

Usually, you need to be in a woods view room, ~ 5th floor, to see the castle, and there's no guarantee you'll be able to get a room with a view. I've heard that there are a very few courtyard rooms at the end of the "U" with view of the castle, but the courtyard really doesn't face MK. I thought the 7th floor was concierge, but really don't know for sure.

My parents are going to stay in the WL this Christmas, and we plan on taking a trip over to the resort to enjoy the decorations. I hear that is is decorated beautifully for the holidays, so I am eager to check it out.

I hope that you enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2
