Hello, I am pretty new to the boards. I started planning our trip to Disney 2 weeks ago. We will be there July 29-Aug 4. I did not realize until coming to the boards that people prepared so far in advance. I guess to most of the people on here this would be considered a last minute trip. Nevertheless, we are very excited and not concerned at all about last minute preparations. THis will be our families first disney trip so anything that we get to see and do will be great.

One question about ADR, Since it is so late in the game I have not tried to make any ADR. DO you think that I would be able to get reservations at Coral reef, Crystal Palace and Le Cellier's if I call this weekend. If not what are the chances of me going to the restaurant in the morning of the night that we would like to eat there and getting reservations?

You can certainly ask, but my guess is any dinner reservations are going to be very late (after 8:30 or so) You may have a better chance with some off time lunches, like 3:00 or so. I would just call and ask them what is available.

I would definitely still try to get ADRs, at worse case scenario, if you can pick up a few, great. If not, then try walk up.

I planned a last minute trip last year (booked it in August for September) and still managed to get the ADR's I wanted by being flexible with dates and times (even LeCellier at 6pm during free dining!). I would call and see what you can get, having a few backups in mind. Good luck :goodvibes

With the free dining plan in effect during that time, I doubt you'll have much luck with specific times....just be flexible about the times you go and you may have luck. I'd be on the phone right now making some ADR's, cause i doubt many restaurants will be accepting walk-ups. We booked our ADR's 6 weeks ago and could only get a lunch ADR for Le Cellier

I think free dining starts Aug 26, on. Not in July.
OP. Run to the phone to try and get ADR' That is your best bet! If you will eat late, you may have no problems. Good luck!! Have a great trip!

We just planned a last minute trip, 7/29 - 8/2 and I was able to get ADR's for dinner at The Plaza and Rainforest AK, lunch ADR's at Kona and Crystal Palace. I tried for a breakfast at Chef Mickey and there was no availability. There are just two of us this trip. Call now, pickings are probably already slim and don't count on getting Coral Reef or Le Cellier except possibly for lunch.

Also, if you don't get into the restaurants you want, keep trying every day. People do cancel sometimes.

We will be there from Aug 8 to Aug 13. I just called this am and added a dinner ADR at Kona's for 6:05pm. I'd already had ADRs for dinner at Boma and Cape May Cafe. My DH likes to eat early so maybe that helps.
The tips I've picked up from these great DIS folks are:

1. Be flexible in your times.
2. Keep calling
3. Put the dning number on your cell and call once you get there.
4. Ask the hotel concierage if you are staying on site.

My DH can't decide on where he wants to eat and we want to try resturants we don't ever eat at when our whole family is with us. Trying to decide where to add a lunch at WCC, maybe a dinner at Jiko's and lunch at CP, but there may not be enough time to do it all this time.
