I really wanted to by an SLR, but of course, it was out of my price range. Especially since I am a Nikon gal. I have had a Nikon Coolpix5200 for a couple of years now and although I love it, the wear of taking well over 15,000 pictures is showing. So, I went our camera hunting this week. My eye was really on a Fuji SLR, but my friend who used to sell cameras kind of set me against it. He said he never sold a Fuji camera that did not have problems within the first year. Go figure. Against my wishes (cause remember, the only kinds of cameras I've ever owned have been Nikons), I bought a Canon Powershot A720 IS. How does this camera compare with my Nikon? I know I have more megapixels, which should give me a sharper image. Will I have less trouble with night shots (like fireworks)? To save you all the trouble, I'm adding in the specs on each camera. Tell me the differences I should see and what I might need to buy in addition (other than the 2GB memory card I got this week--I had 2 1GB cards, but thought with the 8MP I'd need more memory in a card.)
