Just arrived back home in Ontario after spending 1 wk at the Fort and Disney World. Did I mention it was bloody hot!:scared1: We had a blast...tons of fun...exhausted every night but man was it hot! It really made the kids a little more irritable than usual. We would dash from ride to ride to get some air conditioning. Otherwise, we used our bikes to get around which was great. Drove to places like AK, Typhoon lagoon and Blizzard Beach which were by far the most awesome days. Kids loved the slides and the wave at TL. Tonight it's 76 degrees and it wasn't below 88 at night at all and 98 to 100+ every day this past week. Anyway....we had a blast!:cool1:

When my children were younger we use to always go to WDW in June or July, it was hot as heck but we managed without it being a problem, now we can't seem to take the heat the way we use to , we went back a couple of years ago in September and we all thought we would just kell over dead, we didn't do half as much as we would have normally done, we were a bunch of cry babies the heat was so bad. Now we try to go whenever the weather is nicer, we went in April of this year and it seemed the weather was perfect, and we could even take the crowds alot better.

it was 110 when I was outdoors for a picnic yesterday...I got so hot I ended up pouring water all over me just to be able to tolerate the heat and keep from fainting....worked great but I got some wierd looks....didn't care!! I was cool:rotfl2:

It's ridiculous here too. Over 100 every day for the past week and 1/2. I've been trying to get some stuff done to the camper this weekend and it's too bloody hot during the day. And once it gets below 95, it's dark and then when I turn some light on the subject, the bugs attack.

It's been hot but not the hottest summer recently. The last few summers have been brutal, I've found this one to be kind of hit and miss. In fact, we've visted Disney twice this summer, which we normally never do. One time was in early April and there was actually a really late season cold front that made the whole weekend mild. The last was a little over a month ago, and while it was hot, it was still bearable (and we were even in MGM).

Now two years ago, we went during the summer and it was so hot that I actually got blisters on my feet. Which I don't think I've ever had happen, at least not in Disney. Let's just that was not a fun weekend walking around...lol

Is MGM hotter than the other parks?

I would say yes on this. Not as many trees and plants as in the other parks, just builing after building. Now I wish all of the parks had the fans like Animal Kingdom.

Is MGM hotter than the other parks?

Yea, MGM ranks up there. Here is the list, as I think most people agree on, of the hottest parks (hottest being #1, least hot being #4).

1) Animal Kingdom
2) MGM
3) Epcot
4) Magic Kingdom

Animal Kingdom wins hands down, even with the trees finally maturing and giving much needed shade, it is just a really hot park. While the trees do give shade, they also block a lot of the breeze, and many parts of that park are like sitting in a sauna. The fans they installed do help, but they really need more to make much of a difference. Animal Kingdom is the only park I've ever been in where I literally saw a cast member at an ice cream stand, with a full fan and mist blowing on her, still pouring sweat out of every pore :(

MGM has a similar problem in that there are lots of areas that are blocked from the wind, although it is more open than Animal Kingdom. Plus they have a lot of black-top street roads, which just bake in the heat.

Epcot for the most part isn't that bad, especially World Showcase cause you almost always get some kind off breeze coming off the lake.

And Magic Kingdom isn't that bad at all either, once again because it is a much more open park than Animal Kingdom and MGM.

For a long time MGM was the hottest, until Animal Kingdom came around ;)

I agree! We lasted 3 hours at Animal Kingdom on Wed (8-11) then hi tailed it over to Typhoon Lagoon and stayed there until 7pm.
