I was wondering if I made the right choice with picking the pop century for my disney vacation in July.. Are the lines for the buses really long? Do the rooms look clean and nice? Any other info would be great. Thanks!

Lines for the buses can get long during the summer but they pretty good about dispatching more buses to the long lines. The rooms are clean and very nice. We really enjoy staying at Pop and we are DVC members.

Your kids will LOVE Pop Century! It is a bright, colorful, fun resort with clean rooms, lovely landscaping, a large food court and gift shop, and buses that run from the resort straight to the parks, no stopping at another resort to pick up more people.

We are two mature adults and love staying at Pop. I wish my grandkids lived closer so I could take them to visit WDW on a regular basis - we'd probably stay at Pop every time. Go to allearsnet.com and click on Accommodations, then scroll down to Pop Century Resort and check out all the great pictures and fact sheet. There is even a lovely lake behind the resort, which the other value resorts don't have. Have fun!

Oops - I assumed you have kids - maybe not. You'll still enjoy Pop, with or without kids.

If you can afford a mod. resort, I would change yesterday.:woohoo:

Pop is awesome! I stayed there for Spring Break this year and loved everything about the resort. And this is coming from a die-hard Polynesian Resort lover. :thumbsup2

I had a car so I didn't use bus transportation. So unfortunately I can't help there. But I have heard the bus service is quite efficient to/from Pop/. In July you might be packed in like sardines when the parks close but other than that it's all good.

If you were staying at the All-Star resorts, I'd say the bus situation there is just plain nutz. :scared1:

Why is that? If you are going to the parks daily, what is a mod going to offer for that extra cash that makes it worth it? I mean we could afford a deluxe if we wanted, but why pay the extra hundreds or thousands of dollars??

Now I could understand it if you were doing WDW as part of your vacation and not the main part. ie: newlyweds doing one or 2 parks over a week but wanting more the 'resort' feel.

As has been stated numerous times, one of the many wonderful things about WDW is the different levels and themes of their resorts. Where you stay and how much you spend is a personal decision. I do not personally care for POP, but many people absolutely love it. I want a relaxed atmosphere after busy parks. I also like having hot tubs, pool slides, turn-down service, etc which the deluxe resorts offer. But, if i were going to just enjoy the parks and stay in them from basically opening to close, then I would choose a value or a moderate. Whatever the OP decides. I am sure he/she will have a magical time:banana:

My question is: did you make the decision of Pop Vs. what other option? Versus other values, porbably. Most folks love Pop. I ahve stayed there three times. The rooms are rather new and if you get a lake view it is beautiful and very quiet. I would be sure to politely request a 3rd or 4th floor room to cut down on noise. The food court has nice offerings espeically the grilled flatbreads. Unlike other values, you may enjoy an alcoholic beverage indoors or out by the pool. I've always had good service at Pop. The lines at ANY resort can be long at this time of year.

My "reservation" (pun intended) with Pop is if you want QUIET, no value resort is a super option. If you want to swim in a pool without 50 screaming children in it at the same time, a value might not be a good option. Otherwise, ENJOY!

we are staying at POP for 3 nights for the first time in July as well. It will be our only chance, as there are 5 of us and my youngest is nearly 3. After the POP we are moving to a FW cabin. I have a feeling it will be 2 very differant experiences :woohoo:

We're mature adults, too & LOVE to stay @ Pop Century. In fact we're going back for another Anniversary celebration in September. We've stayed at Ft. Wilderness, POR, and the 3 All Stars and would still choose POP over all of them. But then I'm a die hard Park Hopper - when I come back to the room all I want to do is sleep!! :goodvibes

The buses at POP weren't too bad in September, but bus service anywhere during the summer is going to be rough - they're going to be packed!!!

Relax and enjoy yourselves.........after all..........it's Disney!! And I agree, go check out allearsnet & get hooked up with their newsletter - its really, really helpful!

Pop has nice rooms. You don't spend much time in your room. However, I won't stay there again because of the lines for the buses and food court. When we left the parks at night, the line for Pop was twice+ long than the other resort. All Stars was even shorter. I'm spoiled now by moderate bus lines, they are much shorter. It's worth the extra money to me to stay at a moderate for the shorter bus lines. I stayed there in January.
