Did I make a mistake paying with PayPal?

I purchased my daughter 5 pairs of AE online for back to school. When I went to pay I just went through my PayPal account so I would'nt have to go grab my debit card out of my purse in my bedroom.

Now I know she will not keep all 5 pairs, more likely around 3. So I am going to return the other 2, or 1 if she keeps 4 pairs of them. Regardless, when I return them, will the money go back into my checking account from which it was debited from or a PayPal account?

It will go back into your Paypal account, BUT after it is there, you can request funds and have the money deposited in your checking account. It takes 3-5 days, but you can get it back where you want it.

Yep. You can transfer a PayPal balance back to your checking account manually. That's what I do with my ebates quarterly reward.

Well I won't make that mistake again! Lesson learned. I did'nt pay shipping but would I have to pay to ship them back? I always just return them to the stores. Unless there would be something else she would want in AE, but usually all she really likes are the jeans there, but you never know.

Yes, you would have to pay for return shipping, or you can return to the store for merchandise credit.

Well bummer. I was hoping that they would include a pre-paid postage sticker like Old Navy does. Big lesson learned here!

I also learned that lesson! . My daughter had a pair of AE jeans we got at a resale store that were a zero and fit her. We loved them so I ordered another pair on sale but when we got them they were nothing like the pair we had that fit. I also used my Paypal for convenience when ordering. When I went to the store to return I was surprised that I could only get a gift card back. Oh we'll. it's been in my purse for 9 months now I think!! We rarely go to the mall and nothing in there seems to fit my daughter. It's hard being a 80 pound, 5 ft 17 year old girl!!
