Did I make a mistake? FF vs Shula's?

My DH is a huge meat eater. On our first night at Disney, we had a reservation at Flying Fish because we'd heard such great reviews of it. However, I'm allergic to shellfish and as I said, DH is a lover of steaks, so we decided to cancel FF and replace it with Shula's. Did we make a mistake? Do you think this was the right choice? We're paying OOP so the Dining plan isn't an issue. Also, we managed to score a $25 gift certificate for $2 on restaurant.com for Shula's. TIA

Sounds like you made the perfect decision.

IMHO Shula's is the best steakhouse on property, Yachtsman is a close second. Shula's is a guy place but I'm betting you will both enjoy it.

mickeyniki, I agree, Yachtsman's is great, but we've been there before. We're hoping to try something different. Looks like Shula's is going to be a good choice for us.
Thanks!

I'm sure you'll have a great time at Shula's, but you should consider FF for another time. We absolutely love it. I don't eat any kind of seafood, but FF is one of my favorites nonetheless. Their steak is great and I have also really enjoyed their vegetarian pasta dishes. We're all big meat eaters, and we were not fans of Shula's when we went. However, by other reviews, we think we probably caught them on a bad night.

1) Pick Shula's over any other steak house at WDW.
2) Now, if DH is a big meat eater, may we suggest
. . . the 48 ounce Porterhouse, or
. . . the 32 ounce Prime Rib
3) Now, THAT'S big meat eating.

While we haven't been to the WDW Shula's we have been to the one in Fort Lauderdale. We went with a group that had widely varying tastes and everybody LOVED it. I had calamari and scallops (I realize not for you) but they were outstanding. I wish were closer to go back!:sad1:
My DH was very happy with his steak.

When I compare filet vs. filet at Yachtsman vs. Shula's, Shulas wins by a landslide. That being said, I don't know how the other cuts of meat compare, but that was enough to make me pick Shula's.

And the restaurant.com $25 certificate is a nice bonus on top of it!
