Did I pick the worse building? We don't have to be super close to everything but I don't want to be super far either.

Thanks -- 19 days till we leave! :cool1: I better get packing!

Wha specifically are you worried about? All the rooms are identical on the inside; it is only the "pop" icons outside the building that differentiate the decades.

The 80's has the big Rubik's Cubes and aren't that far from the main building. In fact, I'd wager that there are some 60's rooms that are as far from Everything Pop as the closest rooms in the 50's or 70's section.

Will you have a car? If being close to the buses are your main concern, ask for a room in the wing that's closest to the 90's parking lot. This is just a quick hop across the lot and right on the buses. And it's a very short stroll along the path to the food court.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! :cool1:

We were in the 80s and loved it! We pool hopped to all 3 of the POP pools one night and didn't have any trouble with the walking distance. Also, we walked to Classic hall quite a bit and never found it too far. Technically we were in the farthest 80s building, #7. I highly recommend it! We were very happy with our room and its location.

We stayed in the 80's building and thought it was fine. We cut through the parking lot to get to the busses. The walk to Classic Hall wasn't bad at all. And the laptop pool is right there. The main pool is a little further, but not a bad walk at all.
And having grown up in the 80's we found this building's icons to suit us best. We loved the walkmans and Rubik's cubes. Very fun! Have a great trip!! :sunny:

I don't think you made a mistake. The resort isn't that big so you can't get to things. I think it took us under 30 minutes to walk around the perimeter of the entire resort and we weren't walking too fast either.

I don't think you made a mistake at all. We stayed in the 50's, but I think the 80's looked pretty cool too!!

sorry to be a bummer - but when we stayed at POP in july 2004
we thought 80's building was VERY far from classic hall - it was a pain to get refills and to take the bus.

laptop pool was right outside our door -- but the distance to to main building in stifling heat was not fun.

this summer we paid for preffered building at CBR - and we LOVED being so close to main pool, food court, arcade.

it made HUGE difference to us -- but maybe not to others

We stayed at that decade and maybe we had one of the back rooms, but it did seem a little far from things. I mean the walk wasnt bad, but walking there just to refill your mugs. We requested it because the icons were so neat, And it was nice, mostly because you had your own pool so close. But honestly your not really gonna be there that much, most of the day your in the parks.
Only 19 days :wave2:

Thanks! Yep I am going to keep the 80's. I grew up in the 80's and really planned on staying there. We are all older - 41 (sis), 38 (me), DS(14) and DN(11). So they will just have to walk.

I really can't wait only 18 more days!

I think you'll like the 80's buildings. We stayed in the 90's building a couple of weeks ago, and it was great. When the CM at check in told us we would be in the 90's, I was apprehensive- it looked like it was far away from everything on the map- but it was great! Nice and quiet, but the bus stops and Everything Pop were a very short stroll away (through the parking lot). The 80's pool was super close, and never crowded. It was a nice walk along the water to the Hippy Dippy pool and Pop Jet fountain.

Have a great time!
