Did I do the right thing?

I had a package booked with POR and just changed it over to CSR, did I do the right thing. Never stayed at CSR before and like the looks of it. Stayed at POR (when it was Dixie Landings) liked it but wanted to try something different. Although, I am not sure that I like the 10% they charge at the food court. Why do they charge this? and is there any way to get around that? So many questions, but really want opinions.

Two ways to avoid it: 1) if you are on the dining plan, it is included; 2) if you are not on dining plan and ask for your order "to go", you will get a "to go ticket" and then will not pay the 10% and you can take your food either to your room or eat at one of the many tables they have right outside of the doors of the Pepper Market or one of the tables by the lake (which is what we do 99% of the time). And I hope you like CSR. It is our FAV Disney resort (we'll be there for the 7th time in just a little over 3 months).

The 10% is to pay the server that will seat you and take care of your drinks. It is an automatic tip. I really did not mind paying it since the Pepper Market was a very nice place to eat and it is not like any "food court" more like a restaurant.

Thanks for the quick responses. We are on the dining plan, so should not be an issue. I have no problem tipping someone if they are good enough to deserve it. Sometimes when you get an automatic tip your service is lacking, IMO.

I hope we enjoy this resort, I have been reading all the threads on it and it seems really nice. We really like CBR but they are having construction the time we are going and we did not want to deal with that. Plus, that gave me an excuse to try a new resort.

You won't be sorry you booked CSR. I'm no fan of southwest theming, but I absolutely loved this resort. Very clean, peaceful, and beautiful. Have fun!

DH offered me the Poly for our 25th anniversary (the reason we are taking this trip), but I wanted to stay where I am very comfortable--CSR.

Great choice!! CSR is my favorite mod. Check out my CSR website below for pic and info.

The 10% is split among all the workers the the PM, the cooks to the hostess. They sit you, bring your drinks and refills, clean your trays and dishes and clean up the table when you leave. Even if you were to eat every meal at the PM, the 10% doesn't amount to that much money that it would ruin a trip.

I love the southwest and I am so looking forward to it, but still I don't want to rush my summer away. We only get so many months of sunshine.

My boys came home from college on Friday and by Saturday, I was counting the days until they go back! Seriously, I love them and am glad they are home. But I know the sooner they go, the sooner I go to Disney.
