Hi Everyone!

Wondering what you think of these choices for a family of 5 (kids are 13, 11 and 8) going over Feb. break.

Kids love buffets, so I've picked a couple we've never been to before. Would you change any of them?

Arrival Day - Cape May Clambake
MK DAY - 1900 Park Faire dinner buffet
Saturday night - Bomas - went last year and loved it!
Epcot Day - Biergarten...couldn't get into LeCellier which we love, done Teppan Edo a couple times and figured we'd try Biergarten.

Any other must trys?

Thanks!

Personally, the only lunch/dinner buffets we will do at Disney are Biergarten and Cape May Cafe. This is due to two horrible experiences at H&V and a so-so visit to Chef Mickey's. We LOVE Biergarten and really enjoyed our meal at Cape May. We've never done 1900 Park Faire and I've read good/bad reviews (I've read the food is very salty).

We have eaten at all of those except 1900 Park Faire, we had some friends eat there last month and they really liked it. Boma is one of my favorites and there is something there for everyone. We have eaten at Biergarten twice and we really like it, I'm not into German food and I am a picky eater but I thought it was really really good, and the entertainment is right up my alley as well. Cape May is not my personal favorite, but I'm not into seafood that much. We have friends that love CM and eat there sometimes twice every trip. I think you'll really like all those places and are good choices. :thumbsup2

we did 1900 park fare last christmas eve. first i will say we are not buffet eaters except for breakfasts. it was set up very well so that you didn't feel crowded. we didn't love the food, thought it was average at best but there was a very wide variety of offerings...but i will say this... it was BY FAR the BEST character experience we've EVER had. the step sisters were absolutely hysterical!!!

Crystal Palace is always a must do for us for breakfast...great food, great character interaction...we love it. This trip we are going to give lunch a try!!:thumbsup2

Well, you have chosen a lot of the same ones I have chosen for us to do in Feb so I think you chose very well of course!!! Crystal Palace and Garden Grill are two others we really love!

I think the ones I made bold are excellent choices. I have not tried the other 1 to comment.

Boma is king of Buffets and Cape May never disappoints. f your family likes sausage they with love Biergarten. Ok, they will even if they do not. It is definitely a must do at least once. I was a vegetarian for years and still found plenty to eat.

Enjoy and don't stress!

Never been to Cape May but it is on our list for July since it looks so great! I have been to all the others. Boma is so great, but you know that already!! I wish DH and I didn't have such darn sensitive stomachs...we are very prone to heartburn and were not used to the spices used at Boma (we ate more of the "exotic" things which is why we went there in the first place)...we really did enjoy the food there and the service was the best at any of our TS meals that trip!

Biergarten is amazing!! We are going back in July. You can't beat the wonderful German food there (and I don't eat the sausage, but I had PLENTY to eat!!), and there is also a lot of other food if someone in your family is not into German food. The entertainment is amazing as well.

1900 Park Fare had very funny characters. The step-family was amazing, it was nice to meet Prince Charming and Cinderella. The food was all right, but not the best. My DH said it was his least favorite meal of the whole trip, but he said it was not a bad meal just not as good as the others. He just couldn't find too many things that appealed to him on the buffet. The desserts were nice, they were small portions so you can try all different things without having to unbutton your pants!! :lmao: I think every family should go to this meal at least once, just for the entertainment of the step-family, and we have it all on video!!!

Enjoy, you made some really terrific choices!

Another one we enjoy though, is Crystal Palace dinner at MK. The food there is SOOOO good!! They had some really delicious salmon on that buffet, and they had one of the best dessert bars I ever saw! The character interaction is also adorable. They do a napkin parade around the restaurant and the kids get to participate. Very cute! The restaurant also has a wonderful atmosphere, and it is close to the castle so when we waited outside for our ADR time (only a few minutes), we got to see the show in front of the castle and DH got to videotape it! The only thing was our server was not that great, but it would not stop us from going back!

We had an excellent dinner at both 1900 Park Fare and Biergarten! Out of the two, I would have to say Biergarten was more fun for the entire family. My daughter enjoyed dancing to the lederhosen-clad oompah band and have great pictures from it. We aren't big eaters but thought the food was good and atmosphere was great! One you may want to checkout is Crystal Palace, the food is one of the better buffets we've eaten at.

I would skip cape mays. For me it was just not worth the price. Whenever I go there are never any crab legs which makes me sad. Service was good but I am not much a fan of the stuff they did have. So with all that said take my review with a grain of salt.

My first time we were there as a large group. Never do a Disney restaurant as a large group. We ended up being seated extremely late compared to our ressies and food was stale since it was right before closing.I did not get reasonable refills in a timely manner.

We Went for hubbys birthday a year later. We were seated right away. Food was way fresher. Service was fantastic. It is just for me, I would rather eat at other places on property. Hubby always told me that it did not impress him but this week he said he liked it. He has severely different tastes in food from me. I think he likes the memories of the real cape may more than the food itself. He grew up in philly. He likes it when he misses the boardwalks of jersey is what I gather.

Instead I would probably do Biergarten for Epcot, Try Hollywood and Vine for DHS and just go for Yachtsman or Kouzzinis in the boardwalk area.

I love Crystal Palace but I think it might be closed while you are there. We are doing Liberty Tree Tavern instead because they are turning it into either "family style" or buffet while CP is closed. And, Minnie and Chip and Dale will be there.

I thought all of your choices looked great!! We wanted to do Biergarten while we were there last time but we just couldn't fit it in our schedule.

Hey Heather how are you??
Which day are you doing 1900 Park Fare dinner? We are doing this on Valentine's day..Only had breakfast here and it was yummy but we decided to try dinner this time.
We are staying at AKV Jambo House so we are eating breakfast & dinner at Boma's during our stay. Love Bomas!
We've eaten at Biergarten twice and though we just think the food is just ok we love the entertainment. The pretzel rolls are the best thing on the buffet!LOL Probably won't return here again though!

Are you going to AK one day? Have you ever done Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. My kids still love this and they are 14 & 13 now. We are doing a late there on our AK day.

Thanks everyone! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Love all your suggestions. Unfortunately, CP will be closed when we are there. We love it for dinner.

Jen- I'm doing great. How are you guys? Can't believe it's time to plan another Disney trip. I'm more excited than the kids...as usual!

We are flying out on Tuesday the 9th. Planning on hitting the MK before the crowds build on Thursday with 1900 Park Faire for dinner then. Doing Boma on Saturday night the 13th. (I'll save you a zebra dome or two) and Biergarten on Monday the 15th.

I was hesitant on Biergarten though. I like German food but not sure what everyone else will think. Couldn't get into LeCellier and have done Teppanyaki a couple times. My sister and her husband and 3 kids may also be coming and since her kids are little I figured Biergarten would probably be the best choice.

We've never done Donald's Breakfastosaurus....will look into that.

Thanks so much!
Heather

About Biergarten- We actually chose it over Le Cellier this time!

The atmosphere is great, and it is awkward at first being seated with people you don't know, but if you get friendly people it can be fun! As far as food, my DS is the world's pickiest eater and I always know he will eat well at Biergarten!

Have fun!

Honestly the only dinner buffets you will see me set foot in would be Beirgarten and Cape May Clambake...we have done all the others for dinner and found the food to be terrible and overly salty
