Did DU get you a discount today?

We love our DU agent and wouldn't plan a trip without her. To answer one of the above questions -- if DU has made your ressie, you will not be able to call for codes and change it. The agent "owns" the ressie, so you can't make changes.
 
My DU agent, Carole, emailed her clients about the possibility of the new codes and then Emailed me back today and said that she checked and the new code was not as good as the email code that I got, so she left my ressies alone.

I have no doubt that if the code would have saved me money, then she would have done it.
 
As someone else posted, Marla is on vacation at the Swan, but she has done several things for me while she is there. She made changed on PS's for my coming trip. I emailed her when I received my AP email to ask her to update my ressies. She was able to get the discount for my entire stay even though some of it was in the black out period. I was thrilled.

Sadly, I can't report the same good results with DU related to the AP discount. The agent we are assigned to apparently didn't try for an AP discount for us until today, even though I have 3 emails that I sent over the past few months stating we were interested in the AP discount.

I thought that having them handle it would result in a better chance to at the discount. Now I wish I had tried on my own instead.

Just sharing my personal experience. Congrats to all those who had a better experience. I believe that our situation is the exception to the norm based upon feedback posted here and prior experience with DU. However when you are the exception to the rule and miss the chance for a nice discount, well ... it is really disappointing.

My agent, Tricia, is great! She e-mailed me right away to let me know she tried for the AP codes for me and they were the same as the postcard rate I was already getting for Pop Century and All Star Movies.

Now I'm just hoping we are as lucky with PS!!

So far I'm very happy with DU. If I get all my PS, especially CRT, they'll have a customer for life!!!
 
Sorry to hear that some of you did not have good luck. Maybe they will keep trying and something will come through for you...or maybe you can adjust your reservations and it will work out.

One time I was trying for five nights at one resort and five at another and the code was not available, but then when I switched which resort to stay at first, I could use the codes. I was happy.

Joe at Dream Come True Vacations was able to get my friend the AP rate for his upcoming trip, and saved him $1300 for his 14 night stay.

He is still trying to get my trip rebooked with the BAT or AP code, but my trip is over Columbus day weekend, apparently a busy time.

Sue Ellen at DU was able to get us AP rates at AKL Savana view for Dec 12-17.

I just got a quote from DU. They were able to get me WL for 11/29-12/4 standard view room. I had booked CR yesterday with Disney. NOw, do I switch. I had really wanted WL, but now CR seems good. Oh, what to do? It's funny how she was able to get 2 rooms at WL, but not really anyone was able to through disney. Makes you wonder.
 
My DU agent was unable to secure our ap rate, but was able to apply code BAT to our ressies. She saved us a total of $437.00. Poly GVC here we come!
 
I wanted to thank all of you for responding. I am feeling much better about our decision to go with DU. i figured I couldn't call on the room codes. It was worth a try. Thank you again for reassuring this type A Disney freak.
