Did Disney World just increase capacity?

I think you're right that they reallocated AP spots. I don't see an AP button anymore and I'm pretty sure I saw one before. If it is truly more people, I hope they bring back FP+!

I’m nervous about this too for our July/Aug trip. Standby lines are already much longer than we ever waited for all the headliners when FP+ was around. It will be even worse if they open it up more without doing something

So far they have not increased the timings as compared to what the hours are this week. I'm hoping for longer hours at least if capacity is being increased or give me back FP+!!!

I’m heading down next week. I was counting on lines being socially distanced. I hope they are not increasing capacity just yet. There are still no character meet and greets and many closed shows that would normally eat up crowds. There are still many restaurants not open as well. I think they need to address those issues before they let more people in the gates.

I'm not sure what happened but for those going in June who were having problems booking a park, now's the time to check again!

I’ve been trying for most of the afternoon and now been on hold for 1.5 hours. I’m trying to change our HS day. I was able to book my DD on the new day but not mine. It’s showing green and I canceled our Epcot day to open a reservation to allow the move before canceling our other HS day. Does anyone have any suggestions? I keep trying different things while I’m on hold. I tried the APP and the website both on my laptop and phone with no luck.

Same !! Planning a mid-july trip ànd the thought of long lines, and no FPS has me having second thoughts - we are not really the rope-drop type , so this might be tough - ( that and my anxiety over making pool reservations! ( are they still a thing ? )

CDC revised its guidance to say 3 feet distancing is sufficient, down from 6 feet. Won't be surprised to see them compress/shrink the distancing as a result

If capacity is increasing come June, extending hours would help spread out the guests.

It's such a simple thing to do too that will improve guest experience! Like come on Disney, help me out here! We arrive end of June so hoping since we're technically in the 'summer' crowd we'll get some changes.

6 ft vs 3 ft won't change the wait time though. The ride can only spit out a certain number of people an hour. The wait time would be the same, but the length of line itself would just be longer or shorter.

Personally, if they open up capacity without FP+, there will be a lot of unhappy guests.

After waiting on hold for three hours to reserve a polar patio , I was chatting with a CM about the sudden opening for park reservations. His theory was he doubts they increased capacity and instead shifted AP availability to resort guests. And actually that makes total sense of you think about it. More resorts are opening, and I think in general more people are becoming comfortable with travel. But no one is going to come stay at the resorts if there are no park see around available. Disney wants the money... so they’re going to give the park reservations to people who are going to stay at their resorts.

After 2.5 hours on hold I finally talked to someone. She said it made no sense why I couldn’t book it but she was able to book the reservation for me. We are now set for June.

And a lot of people are blocked out of annual passes for the summer... silver pass etc...

Makes sense. I didn’t think they were likely to increase capacity immediately but do think they are positioning themselves to do so if this summer it’s reasonably safe for them to do so. There is a decent chance things continue on in a positive direction. If things are looking good in June I would not be surprised to see capacity increasing.
