If they were to build anywhere else in the USA, then near Houston would be the best bet. It's not too cold in the winter and cruise ships can dock close. Big airport and big city nearby, and Dallas and San Antonio, pretty large cities, are within driving distance for a day trip.

Houston is also horribly hot and humid. I can't go to Houston at all because the combo of the air pollination, heat and humidity causes me to have asthma attacks. As for OK, they're also having problems there with earthquakes caused by fracking.

I always thought a Disney ski resort with DVC, ABD and summer activity options would be great. It would allow them to diversify.

For years the rumor was they were buying land around Branson MO. Not going to lie we would love that since we are an easy 3 hour drive away. Honestly I've always thought some sort of Disney property in the mid west would be wonderful. Like others have mentioned a ranch theme or maybe on the ski slopes.

I've heard Disney is coming to Houston for over 20 years. 2016 was supposed to be the year it opened....I'm still waiting

That is in part why we moved from Houston 4 years ago. My lungs, and my oldests' cleared up almost right away moving to the mountains of Virginia. My youngest is almost off his inhaler, just needs it seasonally. My husband loved Texas, but we all had so many health issues. My in laws have lived there for 30 years, and no plans to move though for the last 10 or so, my mother in law struggles daily with breathing, and uses an inhaler constantly, and she used to be in perfect, active shape. Like our pediatrician told us, in Houston it's not a matter of IF you are going to develop breathing difficulties due to the increase in pollution, it's WHEN.

NW or NE of Houston would both be good choices. The air quality would be marginally better NW of Houston.
Houston tends to maintain a decent economy even in recessions, and land is affordable.

Hurricanes wouldn't be a major threat north of the city, but spring tornadoes could be problematic if you get too far north of town.
