I remember reading something about this a few months ago....but I still cannot really find a definite answer.

Anyone know the scoop?

You have to register to read that. Just tell us - yes or no?

Nope - but it doesn't seem to have hurt Pixar. There is a measure on the city of Emeryville (Pixar headquarters) ballot to allow Pixar to expand.

No but I don't think Pixar has signed a contract with someone else so still a slight possibility that it could happen.

I was wondering about this too because in the commercial for The Incredibles, it starts by saying "Walt Disney Pictures PROUDLY Presents a Pixar Film...etc...." I was surprised to hear Disney and Pixar in the same sentence... lol

Pixar is separating itself from Disney. From what I understand, they are still under contract for a few more movies.

Pixar and Disney had a contract to make 5 movies. The Incredibles is the fourth and The Cars is the fifth. It takes at least 3-4 years to make one of those movies from start to finish.

My understanding is that Disney owns all the rights to these first 5 Pixar movies, so if there are sequels to any of them Disney will make it. I hope Disney doesn't shy away from promoting the Pixar characters in the parks. I'm still waiting for the Monsters Inc door ride, and I would love to see rides or character breakfasts with some of the other Pixar characters.
