Did CRO give me bad AP advice?

I'm trying to tack on 2 days (nights of 12/1-2) to an existing DVC ressie (11/26-30).

I've been trying to get AKL at the AP rate for those nights. 12/1 has availability but 12/2 does not.

CRO told me to book the 2 nights at the regular rate and keep calling back "because there is so much time between now and then and something will surely come up. Plus, there are really good deals coming in December even without the AP rate so you will be fine."

I said I wanted to created 2 separate-but-linked ressies - 1 for each night - to lock in the 12/1 AP rate and then keep calling back to try and get 12/2 at the AP rate. This way, at worst I'd only have the regular rate 1 night instead of 2.

What do you think? And has anyone heard any rumors as to what these December discounts might be? She said to look for them late Oct. to early Nov.

That's what I *should* have done but I didn't think of that until after I hung up!

But I called back and got an AAA discount for my dates (15% vs. the AP 25% discount) so that's better than nothing -- I'll try again tomorrow and go from there - I'm tired of doing this right now! I feel like I have been on the phone with them all night. If I do 1 night AAA and 1 night AP that saves me $30 and then if I can eventually get both nights AP that's a total $63 savings from where I am now. Of course I probably spent $40 in phone bills arranging all of this.

I was able to call back and talk to a CM who understood what I wanted to do (although I did have to explain what an AP rate was...?) Anyway - she linked my 2 1-night ressies so I have teh AP locked in for night #1 and the AAA rate for night #2 - will keep calling back to try and get the AP rate for that second night. Moved the total down from $641 to $513.

Even better - our flights dropped a total of $250 for 4 of us - yay Southwest! And that was without any Dings!
