Hi girls,

I have heard all the positive things on this site about Disney weddings. I just wanted to know if anyone had had any problems on their day due to incompetence, rude staff and any issues with wedding planners etc, etc.....

I know some of you had problems with Disney photographers being rude which is what has made me think of asking this question.

I look forward to reading your replies :goodvibes

Nope! I had issues with guests being late (all of the groom's family), my umbrellas (cut open my finger), and a few annoyances with the groomsmen (they went into the reception before we got there). Disney handled it all with more than I could have asked! The only thing I had issues with was asking the hotel's hair salon to do fancy up-dos and I had no clue when my planner would contact me in the morning (little control freak-out, but he called me about four hours or so before the ceremony with his cellphone number and when he'd show up at our hotel).

No issues whatsoever. Every single person on the Disney staff was fantastic (and I saw a LOT of staff that day) and my planner (Karen Heyn) is amazing. If there was anything that went wrong, neither I nor my mom know about it.

I had not one issue with DFTWs or any other WDW staff the day of my wedding. They were all wonderful. I was the one who had problems with being on time but DFTWs was on top of that too, LOL! We ran a half hour late for the pictures before the ceremony at the GF. The assistant from DFTWs was waiting for me with Randy Chapman at the GF. I called Randy to let him know we were late and he relayed the message. That was it, no issues at all.

It was the most effortless day. Everything was wonderful.

The can say enough about the Disney staff. I also can't get over how many there were at each event.

We had things go wrong but none of it was due to incompetent/rude staff, wedding planners etc.

My wedding planner Amy was wonderful.

I ran into a bit of a problem, but I'm not sure who was to blame. My photography list, which I sent and asked for confirmation of it, both through email and the phone, was not with my photographers on the day. I'm not sure if someone at DPS didn't give it to them, or the planner didn't send it, but they kept trying to get us to do pictures that I said I didn't want. They didn't know we were not feeding each other cake, or having a first dance, and they missed quite a few pictures that I really wanted.

I also was supposed to have BOC mimosas at brunch, and for some reason, they only had enough prepared for one person each, and didn't refill them. They were also supposed to be made with pineapple juice instead of orange juice and they were not.

Other than that, everything turned out really well!

Hi, i have a really random question for you, we were thinking of not having a first dance, but alot of family are telling us that we really should as we'd feel that we'd missed out, and that something was missing from our cake reception. I just wondered if you felt this was the case?

thank you

Our family told us a lot of things...we ignored them :rotfl: We wanted to do what made us feel comfortable, so it worked out perfect for us by not having one. We were definitely judged for it, by our photographers and a few guests, but we didn't care. Plus, it meant more time for chatting and we got to eat quicker!

yeh i really dont mind about the first dance, i think it would be quiet funny, but leigh feels sick at the thought of it

more time with guests and cake seems like the perfect choice :thumbsup2 lol thank you! It's definatly something to think about

We did a first dance, but we didn't do the father-daughter / mother-son dance, and my dad said not dancing with me on my wedding day is his only regret. I didn't even put to much thought into it, and now I wish I would have asked him before and then we would have done it for sure. HTH :goodvibes

We weren't suppose to do any dancing as I have two left feet. Before I knew it Mickey was waltzing with me and then passed me off to my husband. I don't even remember what the guitar player was playing as I was too busy thinking "this is not suppose to happen" :)
