Did anyone watch Rock Star: INXS last night?

I missed the show last night because our Dish network wouldn't pick up the local channels. Who got voted off? Anything exciting happen?

I love this show....so,so much better than American Idol. Alot of the performers are really good....it will come down to a tough decision. :wave2:

I like it more than American Idol as well. First of all the music is so much better and I also think the singers are more talented. My top 5 picks in order are:

1. JD
2. Marty
3. Heather
4. Ty
5. Neal

Spacemountain, I think Jessica is a great singer but she's a little over the top with the whole 'stripper' moves. Not that I'm saying she's acts like stripper or anything, I just think she's using her sexuality so much that it's distracting from her vocal talent.

I'm watching it on my DVR right now and I agree that this is a better show than AI. Almost all of these performers are talented and the none of the songs suck. Also this backup band ROCKS. ::yes::

I have a hard time thinking that those 15 people were the best out of what auditioned - YIKES!!!

My DH said the same thing. I think some non-musician casting people got involved in picking the contestants.

I agree there is no replacing Michael and I find implausible that any of these 20 year old singers would even want to front a band of 40+ year old, dare I say, used to be rockers.

I wish Jessica luck. I can't see them picking a woman, I think it will be JD, but the exposure will hopefully help all of them. :)

I like INXS, but every band reaches their peak and comes to an end. Time to hang it up guys.

She and my cousin are actually engaged- and he doesn't like the "stripper moves" either. :earseek: ;)

I agree.

That's really cool that you're that close to someone who's in the running for the job, but I've already hitched my wagon to Heather. I really think she stands out above the rest.

That's what I was thinking. I watched last night for the first time and I thought it was sort of silly. It just doesn't seem the thing that real "rockers" would want to do. You know, parading around onstage for this has-been group. And the one guy even said last night that all the other contestants are still learning their songs. Did they even know who INXS was before they started this show? But, I will say that I am starting to develop a slight attraction to Dave Navarro. :earseek:

Possible spoiler for those who have not seen it yet. If you want to read- highlight between the stars.

*Whew, that was close! We were really worried! Luckily she made it to next week. We saw her talking to my cousin at the end but we couldn't see him. Maybe next time*

Did anyone see who was in the bottom three & who was asked to leave? I thought the show was on at 9:30, not 9:00 :( so I misssed it.

Tara, Neal, Jessica were bottom three, Neal was asked to leave.

Thanks Aidensmom!! I'm pretty happy with who left... but I will say, I think everyone there is very talented, makes for a really tough competition!

It is tough competition, but as some of them sing different styles of songs, you can start to see who has a talent for singing overall, and who has a talent for singing a particular type of song.

You know, when you think about it, the whole voting thing really means nothing (though I have been voting for my favorite). Someone could receive the most votes every week, but if INXS never chooses to have them be the one to leave, they could win the competition.

I agree with you somewhat but in the end the new lead will have to front their band........and sometimes like AI it ends up being a popularity contest with people voting for someone just because they know them or they maybe from their area. This way at least it seems people are voting for the best singers and ditching the ones that are not. The band then has to choose from the least favorite. I think the last 2 cast offs needed to go......Neil looked like an imatation Mick Jagger, and that rendition of the Bryan Adams song really really sucked! The women are going to have a tough road to go to win, although there are a couple that could be there (I like Jordis) she doesn't just use her sexuality as some are but she she has a great voice. For the men I think JD is a front runner simply because he has taken the reins and arranged songs, which could help the other members of INXS. Mig is also good and he is a fellow Australian (could be a good fit)
It's not INXS fault that Michael chose to leave this world and I don't think they should have to hang up their careers because of, as far as the game show route to find a new lead singer, well I look at it this way it is giving some no name with talent to perhaps make something of themselves. And I think there is some good talent there, some bad too but much better than most of the AI contestants.

Neal left? I missed the results show so I'm not sure how it played out. I do admit his Bryan Adams was way off key but last week he BLEW me away with his rendition of CCR's Fortunate Son. I thought he was amazing last week. I wish they would have given him another chance...I think he had more potential than Tara to make it all the way.

Well JD is really quite the character. I didn't like how he was trying to mess with Jordis. I can't wait to hear his rendition of We Are The Champions. I think he'll pull it off.

He is a real snake isn't he? But I still want him to stay.

Is it just me, or does JD seem just the slightest bit "psycho?" It seems like he'll stop at nothing with his obsession at getting into INXS. Hopefully the guys in the band will recognize this (I think they do).
