Did anyone use "Aqua Net" back in the day?

My "peacock bangs" fanned out 3 inches over my forehead. My math teacher, Mr Coriveau actually measured them in class. I'm Aquanet free now over 15 years now, but lord did I use up my lifetime allotment from 1988 to 1992.
I used the pink can, which was the Mega Extra Super Duper hold and carried a can with me at all times. Cringe!

Anyone else rock the "big hair"??

oh yeah...I did. Actually we have a can in the bathroom...DD's use it for "dance recital hair" lol nothing else holds as well as good old Aqua Net!

Not only did I use Aqua Net, I was a fan of Dippity Do and Minipoo!.

Back in the day?! I still use it now! :goodvibes

Mine is the purple can, which is something like Unscented Extra Hold. I no longer have feathered hair but when I want to curl my stick-straight hair, I need to use some hairspray.

I love my AquaNet!! :cheer2:

My friends all used Aquanet, but I used Paul-Mitchell -- super-freeze -- and then I'd take the blow-dryer to it so it wouldn't move. My hair was so big. I blame "A Room with a View" and Helena Bonham Carter for that hairstyle. I'm pretty sure that's where it started. :) I have fine hair that wasn't meant to stand two feet off my head.

I was a big Dippity Do fan also. My hair was fine and wouldn't hold a set so Dippity Do was the only way to go. That and teasing and lots of Aqua Net.

We called it the "Suburban Claw" :rotfl2::rotfl2:

and, Yes, I had one!! I used hairspray called Freeze it!! and now I use the same stuff for dd's dance competition hair.

Agreed! :cutie:

I don't believe that any of you ever had/have big hair :snooty:. We need to see pictures as proof ;).

Ds is a "pro" wrestler. There is a young woman that comes to every show and she still wears her hair that way. Those big bangs in front--so big that only Aqua Net could be holding them there!--, skin tight pants and leopard skin boots, and a ton of make up every week. Bless her heart, every time I see her; I hope that someone will take her aside in the next week and help her find a new hair style and show her a bit about make up. The really sad thing is, her job is selling beauty products.

She is a really nice young woman and has a big crush on one of the wrestlers but just seems to be stuck in the 80's.

And, oh, yes I used plenty of it myself back in the day. Many holes in the ozone from my cans of Aqua Net.

I grew up in NJ in the 80s. What do you think?

I remember the band teachers testing the strength of our claws by balancing paperclips and change up there. Then there was the time a teammate started crying as the coach put the catcher gear on her because her claw was being smooshed.

I used "Super Extra Hold" in the white and pink can. Along with Prell and about a can of mousee. Its a wonder I have any hair left at all. :scared1:

OMG!!!!
Too funny!!!!

I remember seeing a woman with that hair style once....
I almost cracked up... Looked at DH and said "her hair precedes her". :rotfl2:

But, seriously, I am need of some super strong 'freeze' type hairspray now for my new hairstyle. (nope, I don't want my hair to enter the room before I do...) I do need a little height with this short layered bob... and let me tell you, my hair is heavy, and lord, it does have a mind of it's own...

Maybe I'll go see if I can still find AquaNet on the shelf!!!

It was the best $.99 one could spend on her hair! :rotfl2:

It's funny, I went from the super big bangs to flat ones, from aqua net to Sebastian that doesn't feel like you've used any hairspray... barely any of the Sebastian at that.

I keep a can of Aqua Net in the laundry room for getting out ink stains.

Except ours is for cheer competition hair. :goodvibes

The only thing that comes close is Gotta Be Glued

My grandmother, my mother and I used the pink can! I did not know they still made it.:lmao: I used it for stopping runs in the now ancient pantyhose! Thanks for the memories.

Honestly I have no idea what you're talking about.
