Just this morning I was thinking if there were any updates on Luther Vandross. This afternoon, I turned on the tv while I was cleaning and there he was being interviewed by Oprah.

This was the first time that Luther has been on tv or interviewed since his stroke. It was sad to watch, but at the same time very encouraging to know that he has made so much progress. After the stroke, according to his mother, Luther lost control of all his bodily functions. To see him singing and talking again is truly remarkable and to realize that he has had to work so hard to re-learn and regain all the basic abilities that most of us take for granted. I know he still has a long way to go, but he has come a long way.

Any other fans out there?:sunny:

I missed the first half - I got there in time to see Simon with his mom.

I was wondering how Luther was doing though. That span of time when he had his stroke and Barry White died was just so sad!

No, I did not see the show today; however I am glad to hear he has come such a long way. My girlfriend and I were discussing him last week, and we also were wondering how he was doing. Thanks for letting us know.

Luther's mom is a regular visitor to the Tom Joyner Morning show and she gives us regular updates. She is an AMAZING woman and has suffered so much even before Luther's stroke.

God bless him, his is a voice that should never be quieted. It's beyond perfect.

I watched it also. Luther will always remain an inspiration to me. I was pleased to see how far he has come, but at the same time know how far he has to go. I cried the entire time. I think Oprah did a great job. Its really sad to see the devestating affects of a Stroke.

He's lucky to be alive, but he has such a long way to go. I thought his backup singers coming by for "musical therapy" was very, very cool:D

Glad to hear he's progressed enough to be on a show! He has quite a voice, and I like a lot of his music.
