I just got done reading article about those parents who named their kids Adolf(ph) Hitler and those stupid idiot names and that whole birthday cake incident?? Well, apparently, the kids got taken away from them because of the problems and threats that people have given to them.:confused3

I'm not saying that they were negelcting their kids, but the names they gave them?!?!?:scared1: :scared1: What were they thinking?!?!?:confused3 :confused3

I'm sorry that they lost their kids, but maybe they should've thought about that when the kids were born. Instead for their own gratification!! Now these poor kids are going to have to grow up without their parents, maybe.

I can't post any links but I got the article from this place: www.parentdish.com and maybe you could type in that kid's name and get the article.

I'm waiting to hear why they were removed. I think it's horrible that they named their kids that, but I think it's also awful if people were threatening them. They basically did nothing but reinforce what the parents were probably teaching the kids in the first place.

As for stupid names, I work in the city and can tell you that stupid names no know boundaries. They seem to cross all ethnic and social strata. My concern is how do we decide what name is appropriate and who makes that decision? Does the state step in every case?

I didn't know if there were any threads about this or not, so thanks PP!! But, I think people REALLLLY need to start thinking about what they name(d) their kids. It's not like clothes/shoes where once you grow out of it, you can get more. You're stuck with it!!!:rotfl:

I saw this on the news. The kids are very cute and look well taken care of. I don't understand why anyone would threaten small children. That doesn't make sense to me. I also don't get why people would pick names like that for children.

When I first read about the birthday cake thing, I thought, "If the parents thought Adolph Hitler and Aryan Nation, etc. were such fantastic names, why didn't the parents go to court and legally change their OWN names to those horrid monikers?" But no, they had to make a statement and saddle their poor, innocent children with the names instead, thus subjecting them to years of ridicule and who knows what else. (Butt-whoopings come to mind.)

I have to wonder about the mindset of parents like this. Maybe the kids are clean and well-fed. But what sort of mental abuse could be going on at home with these two headcases for parents? They didn't name the kids something merely tacky or tasteless......Their names set them up to be verbally abused and even physically attacked for the rest of their lives. Sorry, I have no sympathy for parents who had no empathy for their own children.

I saw it on the News as well. The kiddos are adorable. This is so sad. :sad2:

Is it RIGHT that people would threaten children named Adolph Hitler and Aryan Nation? Absolutely not! However, it IS completely predictable and foreseeable. Anyone parent with half a brain could have seen this coming, yet they chose to burden their babies with those cursed names.

Years ago, my friend married a man with a teenage son who was a PITA. He lived to drive them crazy. One night, they went to the mall. He had on a t-shirt under a button-up shirt, so the t-shirt couldn't be seen. They did their shopping and at some point, he unbuttoned the shirt and the t-shirt could be seen. My friend was walking beside him, not facing him and did not notice what was ON the front of the t-shirt until they were leaving the mall and the stares and aggressive comments began.

Turns out, the teen had worn some t-shirt that was the sort to aggravate (to put it mildly) Blacks. I cannot remember if it was KKK related or Nazi or what, but it was beyond offensive. And they lived in an area with a significant Black population, many of whom were outside the mall at closing time. Oh, goody. The crowd was very angry and my friend said that was completely understandable. She was livid. First, because the kid had even worn such a shirt. Second, because he put all of them in the position of getting beaten up/car vandalized, etc. by a hostile crowd. She had words with him and made him button the shirt and get in the car so they could exit ASAP. Needless to say, she checked his attire from then on out.

That night, had the angry crowd chunked bottles at my friend's car, or roughed them up, would they (as the parents, and merely being WITH the teen) have DESERVED that? No way! But it really wouldn't have surprised anyone if someone wearing a Klan t-shirt and mouthing off got a butt-whooping (along with whomever was with him) from a group of Black teens. He was virtually asking for it.

Some things just don't take a lot of imagination to predict. Hostility toward children with names like Hitler and Aryan Nation may not be fair, but it's entirely predictable.
