Did anyone not decorate SBP?

I was wondering if any past SBP brides chose not to decorate for their ceremony? Did it look incomplete? I'm really debating how much I want to spend on ceremony floral, although I do know you can move it, but I am worried that it won't look "finished".

TIA!!

i have seen PLENTY of brides who havent decorated SBP, and i went there on our Site Visit and knew i didnt want it to be decorated because i think it looks perfect the way it is.

Some brides have only simply used a few rose petals along the walkway for decoration, and others have gone all out and really decorated SBP.

I think, if you like it the way it is, and you are on a tight budget then you will be fine. If you have the spare $$$ to spend, then i would decorate it (i dont have the spare $$$ otherwise the one thing i would do to decorate it is just by getting chair covers)

:cutie:

Morgan that's a great question... I was wondering the same thing. But it's gorgeous on it's own. I think something simple would look perfect!

We're going with a sand ceremony and will probably have some rose petals around it, but that will be it.

I want to do a sand ceremony too, but how are you planning on getting the completed urn home on the plane? It's kinda worrying me!!!

DH and I were married there, and did not have any decorations. We love the simple, architectural beauty of SBP (that is why we chose it).

The only thing I would do looking back, was ask my wedding planner to not set up the alter table. I looked empty to me (but gave the pastor a place to place his Bible), but I did not know they automatically set it up.

If you choose to decorate it or not, it will be beautiful either way.

Thank you for telling me this! I would have never thought to ask and it would be awfully lonely with a non-religious ceremony :rotfl:

THey automatically set up an alter table :( Good to know! But then I guess you could use it for the sand ceremony. I'm having one too!

When we were married we had no decorations other than what was provided on the cake table. We did not have an altar table or anything like that and we didn't discuss any of that with our coordinator.

Of course, that was awhile ago, so things could have changed. It may also have something to do with the officiant. Disney has worked with so many of the officiants that maybe they know what they prefer (with or without a table) or maybe even the officiants coordinate directly with Disney on things...who knows.

Either way, definitely ask your coordinator what the basic set up is and make sure you have that clarified so you know for sure.

My pastor was my brother-in-law, so Disney did not know his preference.

I was told by my on-site coordinator that they automatically set up the altar table due to bride's can bring in their own sand ceremony/unity candle.

Of course, I did not see the table until I was walking down the aisle, so it was too late then. I wish whoever set it up would of centered it (I am an engineer and do not like things to be off center, so after the ceremony was over I centered the table myself :) )

I think SBP is gorgeous with just a scattering of rose petals. I LOVE that look!

I am not doing a sand ceremony, but I know someone who packed the container full with tightly packed tissues and wrapped the entire thing in towels. She said it moved a little but mostly stayed in one place.

I am not using anything to Decorate Sea Breeze Point. I agree with DisneyBride, I personally love the architecture of SBP and don't think it looks incomplete without decoration.

I'm with the others, I love how SBP looks on it's own, so we're only going to have chair covers and rose petals down the aisle.

We are only having rose petals scattered down the aisle and on the altar table and the cake table. We are also doing a sand ceremony (we are bringing it) and a memory candle for my mom (also bringing it!). FYI- the cost for the petals (3 colors) was $75.

This is what we are doing to (plus the sand ceremony) .... we may even cut out the chair covers and just do the rose petals down the aisle, depending on $$$$. Not that decorating it isn't pretty but i honestly agree with most of the posters here that it is beautiful as is and i wouldn't want to compromise it with alot of decor. :thumbsup2

The only reason I am planning on decorating (and maybe this can be a tip to other people) is so that if it rains, I have decorations in a ballroom (otherwise it will just be a plain ballroom). We are still keeping them minimal (just chair covers and petals) but at least that will spruce up a ballroom if it comes down to it.

I had not planned on decorating SBP, until I read the thread about being rained out. If your ceremony is moved, then you will have NO decorations for your ceremony. That is the ONLY reason I chose to do some flowers. Just something to think about.

Sea Breeze Point is a beautiful location because of the view. I think if you wanted to add a little decoration flower petals adds that touch of elegance...and this is without chair covers. Personally for me I need color. So flower petals and candles will do it for me. I guess Disney can do some colored candle concoction with water.....

No matter what you decide it is going to be absolutely beautiful. Congrats!

We're not having any decorations for our ceremony today apart from the rose petals that our flower girl will throw. Like others, we love SBP as it is.

Just keeping our fingers crossed for no rain!
