Did anyone get a great rate on Southwest yesterday?

I didn't.

I know they usually open anytime between 5 and 10 a.m. I completely forgot and didn't check until late afternoon. We are looking to travel the last week of March.

The one way prices for the flight down were horrible (over $300). The flights home were closer to $200 but I got a much better rate last year.

I was wondering if anyone actually did find a great deal when Southwest opened their flight schedule yesterday.

Southwest opened their flight schedule on Monday at 7am. I didn't check until 10am and the prices were terrible from BWI to MCO. I ended booking with Jetblue for a much lower price and both of the flights were nonstop. The only flights I would have considered buying on Southwest were 1 stop flights. I was really disappointed with Southwest! Is the merger with Airtran affecting all this change????

I must have picked the worst week possible to travel to from Buffalo to Orlando. I need to fly either 3/9 or 3/10 & return on 3/18. Flight on both sides range from $263 to $366. Every other day in the month has flights for $129. Have checked all airlines & same thing. I may be canceling my vacation if they don't go down...Looks like it's college Spring Break so I may be out of luck. :sad1:

I've been watching SW for some dates in January. Was on right away when they released them and they were $148 one way from Kansas City. (Paid MUCH less the last times we've gone) Out of curiosity, checked Monday morning to see what our usual Spring Break dates would cost. They were released at the same $148. I did notice that everything went down this morning (for MCI, I'm also watching OMA for some relatives and there was no change there), so maybe there's still hope. I read a blog that said between the economy, higher oil prices, less planes/flights, etc. prices were going to be higher. But, it also said that some airlines may have jumped the gun and bumped things up too high, so perhaps there will be some chances for sales. Good luck all! :goodvibes

When do they open up the next set of dates? I need to travel to Disney on 4/12/12 and they only came out to 4/9/12 ughh...???

I got a great rate coming home to chicago but don't like the times on 3/31 so I didn't book going yet!!

Under travel tools it says "On October 3, we will open our schedule for sale through June 1, 2012." That could change though.

We had SW tickets booked for way too high a price, but I've been watching. Yesterday, I changed my flight and reduced the cost $69/ticket on our outbound flight. The flight home was the same - until this morning! Changed it again and saved even more. I did only get a credit on SW toward a future flight (not a refund), but we won't have any problem using the credits. That's why I love SW! You can do those things!

Hang in there - the prices seem to be all over the place. I will continue to check every day, because you never know! With the economy doing another little dip, I am hoping prices will continue to drop.

Our trip is April 3-10 so I couldn't book coming home, but got $89 per person going down to Orlando from Detroit. I'll take that any day.

I checked rates yesterday for early March from PVD to MCO. Nothing spectacular. Mostly in the $140 each way range. I have some travel funds I need to use by 3/13. I was hoping to get a quick getaway sometime in March before the 13th. Nothing that would really make it worth doing right now though. I'll keep checking. If nothing pops up I guess I'll have to pay the fee to extend the credit.
