Man in Fatal Crash Had Wife's Severed Head
By JESSE HARLAN ALDERMAN, AP

BOISE, Idaho (June 15) - The severed head of a man's wife flew from his pickup truck Thursday when he crashed into an oncoming car, killing the driver and her child, police said.

The investigation of the deadly wreck and the head, which was tossed onto the roadway by the impact, led police to the decapitated body of 47-year-old Theresa N. Time in the garage of the home she shared with her husband, Alofa Time, said Nampa police Lt. LeRoy Forsman.

A Boise police officer was driving behind Alofa Time's truck on a busy road when he noticed the man's erratic driving and then watched him slam into the car, said police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower.

Time, who was not injured in the crash, told officers that he also was involved his wife's death, officials said.

An autopsy was scheduled next week to determine Theresa Time's cause of death, Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris said.

Time was being held on two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Samantha Nina Murphy, 36, and her 4-year-old daughter Jae Lynne Grimes, both of Boise. Murphy's other daughter was injured and was in stable condition at a Boise hospital.

"It was one of the more horrific and complex crime scenes on memory," Hightower said. "A woman and her child killed in a crash, and a severed head from an earlier homicide: It's nothing short of bizarre and tragic."

What a terrible story. Very bizarre.

It led the news on one station even down here in Utah last night. Video and everything.

One would think that the decapitated head would give them a pretty goocd clue of the cause of her death.

That was my first thought about it as well. But he may have decapitated her after she died another way. He is one sick *******!

I know this is cruel but it is a shame he walked away from the accident.

Oh, come on! ;) I'm willing to bet she was by far not the only one who thought that. I know my first thought was, "Well, thanks for sharing!" but in a ;) way...

It is a truly horrible story though.

::yes:: That's the first thing that went through my head. "Well thanks for sharing with the rest of us"

I read about it this morning. It never fails that some cruel person like a drunk driver will survive a car accident that kills and innocent person :guilty:. But for some one like that guy Time that has taken the lives of 3 people including a little girl whos like is just beginning I hope the rest of his life he suffers with the memory of what he has done. And hopefully his live will be a very long and painful one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The real shame here is the innocent woman and child who died, and the poor siser/daughter who survived and will now need to come to terms with this tragedy. Had it been Mr. Whack Job who ate it in the wreck, it would have been a good example of Karma.

Whether he killed his wife or not, he's still a nutjob for carrying her head around. Haldol anyone?

Anne

yep this happened about 5 miles from my house :( Its all we hear about.

It was horrible.

They kept coming on the news yesterday saying " Franklin road is closed for a very bad accident" but they would wouldnt say why until the new release around noon. I cant even imagine. There were a LOT of witnesses.
That poor girl that survived, she is 8.

The newscaster couldnt get through it last night :(

It was a bad news day here in Boise I think they must have been very overwhelmed by reporting so much bad news.

OT buy you know if the title of this thread had been " This is horrible" or something similar everyone would agree. No one would be flamming the OP.

Well it's not like the thread title had a warning or anything. It just says "did anyone else see this?" That could be anything. It's not till you open the thread do you "see" what it is. No way around it.....

Yikes! That's one sick individual.

Not sure I understand the rudeness towards the Op, do all threads need to have a disclaimer? :confused3

Same here. One person makes a nasty remark and its like everyone has to jump on the band wagon

And there is this lovely little trick here on the DIS boards--hover your mouse over the title and you can even read that she says it is a story she wished she hadn't read before opening the thread.

Binny--is there a dad involved or is that poor little girl left alone.

Anne--I agree, not that I would wish tragedy on anyone, but it is so much worse that more innocent lives were lost and the whacko gets out of the crash just fine!
