Received mine this morning, and had a quick look at the website. It seems that we can give up our 10 % discount in exchange for complimentary National Express transfers to and from the airport or an overnight hotel stay. I think we will stick with our 10%.

Yes, I got mine. I was wondering if we could give up the 10% on the FV scheme but still get it using our Flying Club membership as I quite fancy swapping for the private transfers option - any thoughts? :rolleyes1

So no more benefit than before, still the same old 10% :( Plus the benefits can be only choosen if booking a package and not a flydrive :sad2: Just been reading this from the new FVC website.

Just waiting to see if we get a card, should do as have booked 4 holidays since April 2003 and spent well over £10000.

Claire ;)

I was tempted by that Karen, but then I read that it covers the first 50 mils, and then you will be charged per mile after that, it would be interesting to know what the per mile rate is.

Then it's pointless as that's all I book. Looks like it might be worth opting out and using the Flying Club discount instead - that doesn't seem to restrict what type of package holiday you purchase...

DH received his card this morning and after looking on the web i think we will be sticking with the 10%. Will we all receive a card or just dh as holidays are usually booked by him?

Nope, still not received mine yet, maybe tomorrow?:)

According to the new FVC site it is one card per household.

Got mine today and I think the 10% discount will still work out better for us!

How bizarre - what do Virgin hope to gain by this new system?! I know of a lot of people who have received notifications from FVC saying their membership has lapsed because they've either not taken a holiday for some years, or not spent £6000 on holidays - when infact they've taken holidays for consecutive years costing many thousands of pounds. . . . Virgin's computer system is playing up apparently.

Does anyone know if you can still receive 10% off by using your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club card, is have Virgin gotten rid of this 'perk' too:confused3

No cards in the post but I've had the e-mail. See what comes tomorrow.

David

I just got email to headed "our brilliant club just got better":lmao:
Cards on there way to us.
Can't see me booking a package with them again, way too much for me. Priced up 25 nights next august, over £4,700 after 10% discount.
Same package this August using Miles and Money and booking hotel and car elswhere £2,700.
How do they sell at these prices?

My hubby's card came this morning, but the name on it is wrong - so I'll have to let them know

I have not recived an e-mail or anything.I have spent nearly £9000 since november with them so they better not have forgot me-I am not sure if I will book again with virgin holidays though as a package will probably just use MPLUSM with Va nd book accomodation seperately-it does work out cheaper even with the 10%offpopcorn::

Got my email and to be honest the Club benefits are not at all great, the 10% for us will work out better, moneywise, than any of the benefits such as transfer, parking or hotel as we would never need them due to DMIL being a private hire driver and us living within easy reach of LGW and LHR!

I have already booked October's flight with VA direct and think this may be happening more in future as they are so much cheaper than VH when they have a special offer on!

I got my card yesturday, I am happy with my 10% as its saved us alot of money on our last two trips, i always get other quotes but nothing as beaten virgin yet for what we want as a package deal. I must go check out the rest of the bits and bobs, lol.

Donna

Nope, however DP rang them yesterday and she is resending us some new membership numbers as we couldnt log onto the FVC website.
She was really friendly (bar the fact we could hardly hear what she was saying :lmao: ) and is sending out some offers too :goodvibes

Got an email yesterday and card in the post today :) Will be keeping the 10% though!

Claire ;)
