Did anyone else get this catalog?

I got an FAO Schwartz catalog in the mail today. On the second page is a Victorian style playhouse. It has electricity, heat, a/c, running water and a garage. Also, 8-ft. ceilings, recessed lighting and bay windows. The description says "When children are used to living well, they should play like this" Price -- starting at a mere $30,000!
Also in the catalog is a kid-sized, gas-powered, three-speed transmission Mercedes for only $15,000 and a treehouse/swingset that's made from a "recycled hollow tree" for only $12,000!

I can't imagine having that kind of money to spend on a toy! (Well, it is a nice toy!)

when we were in NY a few years ago, a salesman from FAO took my husband into the private shopping area. He must have thought my husband looked like the kind of person who needed a $15,000 remote car. My husband was like a .......well a kid in a big toy store! LOL We did leave with an armload of stuff but nothing over $300.

Didn't FAO Schwartz declare bankrupcy?

I know that they closed their store on Int'l Drive.........

Yes, they did file for bankruptcy. They are in the process of restructuring. I know the store in the Forum Shops in Vegas is set to reopen this fall. And they wonder why they can't compete with Walmart for the average toy shopper.

They did have some things that I've seen in other toy catalogs. Like this bug habitat and bug vacuum. I noticed it because I'm thinking of getting it for DS for Christmas (he is a bug freak!!). In the other catalogs I've seen it in it's 25-30 dollars. FAO's price $46.95. It's the same exact thing!! Sorry, I'm not spending an extra 20 bucks just to say I bought it from your store!
