Did anyone else get a AP holder survey?

I received an AP survey about a week or two ago asking me questions along the lines of "do I feel valued as an AP holder". I kinda thought that was a joke. Do they really think they are valuing AP holders? They raised the prices significantly but I haven't seen any additions to justify it. The discounts have been decreasing and they haven't released room discounts that are much more than the general discount and they seem to be released much later. What am I missing? Is it because I'm not a local AP holder? However, if your local and go frequently how often would you even use something like Memory Maker. What an odd time for that survey IMO. I thought they were devaluing AP holders on purpose to reduce attendance. Ha! Maybe this survey was to see if it was working or am I totally jaded?

We got the same survey. My responses were pretty much along the lines of how not-valued I feel now. I also went into more detail in the comments section.

Yes, I received the survey. There were several questions on if I thought Disney was greedy. Personally I found the survey questions a bit odd. I'm not a local. I do own dvc and buy an AP if I have enough vacation days planned for Disney parks to make it "worth it".

The "do I think Disney is greedy" question was certainly very direct. It was uncharacteristic of past surveys where most of the answers were all kinda positive. I really was floored with this survey. Are they misguided enough that they think they are valuing AP holders recently?

Got it yesterday. I did a lot of comments too along the line of the prices going up and the benefits going down. I'm not a Florida resident or a DVC owner, just go twice a year. When I first bought my AP it was just because it was less than the amount of tickets I knew I was going to buy, at the time AAA still had a relationship with WDW so I got a discount on the AP through AAA, then got a discount on my room through AAA then stacked that on top of a WDW AP discount that happened to be going on at the time. When it came time to renew, I ran the numbers again and with the renewal discount I still came out ahead, not factoring in any of discounts I may get on rooms or on merchandise or food. I then bought a TIW since I was there with my son and daughter-in-law and we all like an adult beverage and expensive food so that paid for itself within 2 days of the trip. Now with the AP going up and the TIW going up I'm debating about renewing. I know I won't renew TIW, my son has since gotten divorced and is back in school so he will probably not get to go on many trips with me, just by myself I probably wouldn't eat/drink enough in two trips to cover the cost. I don't use memory maker, we have only bought one PP picture per trip in the last 4 trips just because neither one of us likes to have our picture made, so that is absolutely no benefit for me. I'd have to go up to the second tier AP to not get black out dates so I'll have to run the numbers. I always get PHs, that is non-negotiable but I haven't used an AP discount on a room except for one night since the very first time I got the AP. The general public discount combined with Orbitz tends to bring me out better.

The problem with AP is that it's not really a membership. It's just a ticket. While we have MDE which a great improvement, it's really just a shell over existing systems that haven't changed. Our history is not stored. Disney has no concept of Customer Relations Management. There are no rewards points. No sales history. No dining history. No resort history. A guest who has 300 visits looks exactly the same as a first time visitor. PhotoPass deletes your photos. The AP discount card isn't linked, so if you forget to bring that you're out of luck. Renewing AP doesn't always add up if you don't plan on going for 4+ months. It's cheaper to let it expire and buy new later, which is ok, because there is no "Member Since" and there is no card now anyway. But I don't think it's really about the AP that needs fixed; everyone who buys a ticket should have the same level of service. We need Disney to simply remember us. There are probably more cast members who remember me than there are number of sales transactions I've made stored there.

Can you buy the other AP tiers if you are not a FL resident?
Yes, the TIW went up substantially and that is a no go now for us as well. The room discounts used to be good. They weren't enough to fully justify the AP but often times were available when other discounts weren't. That is not really the case anymore.

Good point. Maybe that is the problem with the survey. They are asking questions about whether or not you feel "valued" which presumes you feel like a member or part of a club. My experience as a non-local AP holder is way different than someone who drops in for a few rides or a drink and dinner at EPCOT after work. What we expect (or should I say hope/wish for), spend, and do vary greatly though.

I didn't get a survey. Bummer. I'm sure Disney would have loved to hear my thoughts. lol

I am a FL resident AP (I live about 2 hours away so I go for a weekend & not just a "pop in"). Thanks to the new AP system, I have downgraded my pass. I now have blackout dates. I have never used the room discounts or offers cause it doesn't seem like that great of a deal. The extra fee for the Memory Maker option had no appeal to me so again I went with the downgrade.
