I am just curious of many of you have bid on items that Disney offers for bidding during the cruise ? My husband found the ultimate souvineer for him and actually won it
It was the framed set of menus from all of the restaurants on both the Magic and the Wonder. He was the only person who bid on it - thank goodness - and got it for the minimum bid of $150. I am not as thrilled with it as he is but I must admit it does look nice and we are going to hang it behind our kitchen table.
I personally wanted the Castaway Cay picture that is in all of the cabins but I decided that we didn't need to spend another 300 dollars. Plus if we did that we would have been over our customs allowance and we didn't want to have to worry about that.
There really didn't seem to be much interest in the bidding in my opinion. Some items such as a special pin set got really high bids but some of the other stuff just got one or no bids at all. I also didn't see very many people looking at the items when we would go every evening and check on his bid. The starting prices were somewhat high but they generally still seemed cheaper than you could get the items for on eBay.
Anyway I am just being curious and want to know if anyone bid/won anything on the silent auction on their cruise
Or did you think people like us were silly for throwing away more money to the mouse
