OK,
I am wondering if anyone was on SW site tonight and bought airline tickets leaving Orlando Airport on December 4, to Philadelphia?

I have been watching flights for a while now. We still need our return flight home. I knew SW was down to $117 but I was waiting til Friday to buy the tickets. Anyway, I'm on the site tonight checking it like I always do and the tickets are down to $110! I proceed to buy just to see what my total will be and I call my brother to tell him buy his tickets too. Well low and behold the tickets are showing $92.09 per ticket. So I purchase them. My grand total for 4 tickets is $368.36. I am thrilled.:cool1: My brother calls me , he sees the $92.09 too but when he tries to purchase them he can't. He keeps getting and error warning. So he calls SW and they say that happens when a price sells out, the tickets will be 109.80. Ok, I had that happen to me before so we know that happens.

Fast forward 3 hours later, I still have no email confirmation from SW. So I call them. The purchase was never completed, she says. So she asks me for my CC number to process it. Then she needs all my information. I ask what is wrong? She doesn't know why it just didn't process. When we finish I said lets verify the total is correct since there was a problem.

NOPE! now the grand total is $439.20..Why! for whatever reason SW site did not add the taxes and all that other good stuff, so the purchase didn't process.

Sorry not my fault I have a confirmation page in front of me from when I hit submit and my total and confirmation number is on it, n it says $368.36.. To end this long rant. SW could not do anything to fix the price I have to call Customer Relations in the morning:mad:
Am I really going to get anywhere with them? I am so mad. I told her if you advertised it wrong, you still confirmed it and gave me a confirmation number, they should be honoring the price I was quoted!
Am I wrong?

Call Customer Relations and give them a chance to rectify the situation ...

The SWA website was acting a little *buggy* earlier today ...
possibly from overuse ... due to SWA sale.

They just might surprise you ...

My recent experience with SWA Customer Service ... went quite well.

I had the EXACT SAME THING happen! But it was for PHL to MCO on 12/8.

AND, I discovered it as I was changing the last of 4 tickets from $117 to $110, and then got the $92.09 So I changed the other 3 to get the $92.09. The kicker is, I now get an error message on the first one that it happened to (apparently the "glitch" occurred in the middle of my switching from $117 to $110). Now I can't pull up that confirmation #, and it "lost" the $7 ticketless fund. :confused3

Fortunately, when all that was happening, I copied/pasted the Thank You confirmations to an email to myself. Never did get an email from SWA.

BTW...the difference in price is about $18, and that's more than what the taxes/fees would have shown before they started including them in the advertised price. (That used to be about $11.)

Anyway, I emailed them.

I did the same thing and copied and mailed that confirmation page to myself. I am on the phone with them now.. They are giving me a hard time. We will see what happens. I'll let you know.

Now I am waiting for a call back. I was on hold for a while and they want to call me back. I hope hey realized that they need to honor the confirmation they sent me. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Good luck!

That's what I'm hoping for, too! That's why I tried to do everything in writing, along with it being easier for me. I did all 4 tickets as separate reservations, and the one that initially did the change also does NOT show up when I try to retrieve it. :confused3

OP - Sounds as though it was a pricing error, not that rare in travel. Many providers won't honor such mistakes even if for a few $s as in your case (had experience in past with WDW who outright refused my booking and didn't offer any other discounts either).

If SWA left off taxes from total due, it was a definite mistake but they are required to be collected from passengers, it's the law. Perhaps they'll make an accommodation for you.

Curious, did you check with your CC provider to see if you were charged the original rate?

Hope it works outpixiedust:

So SW called back they are going to honor the original price of $368.36. Actually the new total is $367.00:confused3.. But in the meantime I was charged twice. The $368.36 did go through today it is pending to my bank acct. Also The $439.20 is being processed to go through today too. So now I have to wait until tomorrow and see if SW was able to stop the $368.36 from being charged to my acct. So in the meantime they credit my acct $72.00 on the $439.20. And if the $368.36 does go through tomorrow they will credit me for that. But they have to wait and see what actually got through.
So I am happy that they honored their mistake:) but for a day it has cost me about $800.00 until they fix it.

Something similar happened to me on Jet Blue in June. I purchased a low fare flight to Boston and it gave me a confirmation number, ticket number, etc.... On the day before we were leaving I went to check in and it wouldn't let me. I just figured that I was selected for extra security check (that happened to me before and I couldn't check in 24 hours prior) so I didn't think anything of it.

We got to the airport and I went to check my luggage, and they had no record of the reservation. Don't ask me why but for some reason I printed the email they send you that you can check in now! It took about 45 minutes at the counter (lucky we were at the airport early) but they fixed it and honored my fare that I had purchased during their mystery discount sale $42.97 roundtrip. I had a mystery discount that someone so kindly on this board gave me for my husband and there was no problem with his reservation, same price! Go figure!:thumbsup2

Just to update. SW fixed everything I received all credits due to me..Thank You Southwest:)

And for me, also!

I had emailed them yesterday morning. They fixed it this afternoon and sent the email confirmations. THEN, they called me to tell me, and explained that they had a system error on the 10th.

The confirmations/reservations had completely disappeared and weren't retrievable on my end. And if the ressies disappeared...so did the ticketless funds! All is now better!

:goodvibes
