Did anyone book with Virgin when they had their January sale?

This was when I booked our holiday (think it was about 20/1 to be exact).

I was talking with a guy in work today about holiday prices and stuff, and it got me thinking about my booking, and the invoice I received from Virgin. The sale was advertised as 10% off for booking online (I think...), but the breakdown of the cost of my holiday was;

Adult Price 2 £759 £1518 (total)
Fuel Surcharge 2 £60 £ 120
Govt Environmental tax 2 £20 £ 40
Price adjustment 1 -£810 -£810
Sales discount 1 £35.40 £ 35.40

Total: £832.60



Not that im complaining (!!) but has anyone ever had anything like this 'price adjustment' before?! With this, we have basically received our holiday for half price! But, I dont know why

I thought it might have been because it is 1 adult and 1 child, and so maybe they werent charging me for my DS, but I know now this isnt the case. I've checked for other dates, and there is no mention of a 'price adjustment'.

It's bugging me a bit, but only insofar as I would like to know how I got it, so I can try to get the same deal for our holiday next year Im a little apprehensive about phoning Virgin about it, just in case they say 'ooops sorry that was an error, you owe us £810'.

Any ideas anyone?

I booked on their 10% off weekend which I think was 15 Jan. I booked for March 08 (school holidays) and got 10% off the holiday (excluding the fuel surcharge and tax). It was 2 ad 2 kids, 1 room for 10 nts at Dis Caribb Beach, including PE on the return. It still amounted to several hundred pounds off but nowhere near as much as you both seem to have got!

I'd keep quiet and hope they don't realise their mistake. It's either that or I've been charged too much..

We had a similar experience when we booked for our weddin last year .There were 3 adults and a child.
They charged us for 3 adult and didn't charge for DD whichwas fine When the invoice came they had only charged for 2 adults,put the other adult as a child price as well!!!I did phone them as I was worried about the ticket issue etc as my mom was having her own room.They said they had forgot to add the single supplement as well as charging for a child instead of an adult,but because there wasn't a problem with the names on the booking /rooms we needed they said it was a computor error and didn't charge us any extra.So for there errors they won't suddenly be able to charge you extra money.I would keep quiet,if you are all in the same room etc I wouldn't worry.
