Did anybody buy the Wii at Target today?

I saw in Targets ad, that they have the Wii system for $149. That's $50 cheaper than I've ever seen it anywhere. I asked my husband if we could buy one for upstairs. Last winter I bought some games like Just Dance, etc. for me to get some exercise during the winter, but it's a pain to move the Wii from one floor to the next and I wanted one for upstairs.
Is this Wii just as good as the other Wii's that cost more?:confused3

That's for the older version, doesn't have the Motion Plus, doesn't have the second Wii Sports and I don't believe they are NetFlix compatible

We have an older Wii - probably a couple years old now. Not sure what it's got with it. What is Motion Plus? My husband won't let the kids use the Wii with the computer because he thinks people can hack into your computer that way, so I'm not concerned about having that.

Its their new motion hand control, some of the new games require it.

We love the Netflix feature, probably use that more than the gaming..

If you get a game that utilizes the motion plus, it can be purchased separately.

If you plan on using it for the WiiFit and Just Dance.... that unit will work great.

Why won't it work with Netflix streaming? I have a Wii from a few years ago, and it's still compatible with the Disc Netflix sends out. Right on the Netflix website it states ALL Wii consoles are Netflix compatible.

Our Wii is a couple years old. We bought the Motion adapters for the controllers and watch streaming Netflix all the time. :confused3

Umm, the older version of Wii is definitely compatible with the Netflix disk. I got my wii w/in one year of when they came out it's compatible with Netflix.

As pp mentioned I think you can buy the motion adaptors for the remotes if you really want them.

Not true at all. I have a wii that was bought the very first night they were sold in the US. Its streaming netflix right now as I type this.

Ok, not a gaming guy, when we bought one for the kids a few weeks ago the guy at Target kept telling me how the new ones are wireless compatible with Netflix.. sorry, maybe 15 more know it alls could correct me since the first wasn't enough???:rotfl2:

I believe all Wiis are Netflix-capable -- those with older models simply need to order the upgrade disc from Netflix.

All coments aside - the Target deal is the best I've ever seen, bar none.

Maybe he meant that with the older ones you have to get the disk, but not with the newer ones??? We have a fairly new DVD player and are able to get netflix stream through that, but can't get it through our older DVD player.

That's a really good price, if I could convince DH I'd get one in a heartbeat rather moving ours all the time. I can't say ours gets played daily, especially now that DD is back in school, but it does get used a few times a week even after 2+ years. My DH and DD love to stream shows via Netflix, it's super easy; you just have to request the disc from Netflix (and it's free with your membership). :thumbsup2

Probably not a great deal if you want the motion plus (the add on is $20 each) and the Sports Resort.. right?

I believe you have to have the disk no matter hold old or new the player is. We got our unit last January and you have to have the disk to stream from Netflix.

I didn't buy the Wii but we did buy two of the Wii remotes. They do have the motion plus and came with batteries for $20 cheaper.

Now we all can play. :thumbsup2

I have never seen any deals on the Wii console for the holidays. What did they offer last year? :surfweb:
