when you were a kid?

yes, but I also stole there dandelions

Aww, that's sweet.

My oldest was telling me about a little adventure the other night. One man looks a lot like Hagred didn't appreciate it. He has a beautifully landscaped yard with fountains and everything.
She said she only stole one or two from each yard, but she has a beautiful bouqet.

That's why I grow my nice flowers in my backyard.....:D

I didn't technically steal flowers......I'd pick roses from our neighbor's yard and tear off each petal one by one. But I was 5 years old, so I really didn't think about the hard work it took for the lady to plant her garden.

No...but sometimes I would pick flowers at gramma's that I was told not to touch. :p She had tons of flowers for us to pick, but the off-limits ones were soooo tempting!

That is one thing I never did but if you do that around here now you would either have the police called on you or be shot!

I used to invite the neighborhood kids to pick flowers for their moms. I'd walk around with them with my clippers and make suggestions, occasionally saying don't pick that. The kids loved it.

Yes, I did. One day we went "flower picking" for a bouquet for our moms. I didn't think of it as stealing until after the fact.

DH and I dated when we were young teens. He brought me flowers all the time from the neighbors' gardens. I would be horrified if kids did that to my garden now. Although, marlasmom had a great idea and I may invite some neighborhood kids over to do the same for their moms.

Last spring an adult wandered past my house admiring all of my eartly spring flowers. I went to the grocery, came home, and every one had been clipped! A neighbor said the gal had stopped by her house asking for flowers for her wedding! Augh! I couldn't believe it! I KNOW she had a beautiful wedding!

I have beds in the front of my house so the neighborhood children can pick flowers for their moms...my good flowers are in the back yard! :)

I picked a yellow daffodil from my aunt's yard one time.

That's the only time I ever recall getting a spanking from my Dad.
Not for picking the flower, but for lying and saying I didn't when my aunt saw me do it from the window.

2 years ago we went down to WDW during the flower & garden festival, DD was 2 at the time & everytime I looked away she would pick the flowers.

This is kinda funny, my Grandmother has Alzheimers (that's not the funny part) and she will go over to the cemetery and pick artificial flowers out of arrangements and then come home & put them in a vase with water, when we go over she shows us the pretty flowers that she's grown.

A little off topic but this is funny: I go to a large church and each Sunday we have two matching very large floral arrangements at the altar...they cost around $200-250 each, depending on the type of flowers...some Sundays they are 4 feet tall. A couple of years ago on Mother's Day, someone stole them before church started. Someone at church saw someone walking away with them to a van, but he thought it was a florist employee. Anyway can you imagine the guy giving his wife and his mother those identical HUGE flower arrangements for mother's day?

yep :o :o :o i think i was around 6.

and i had to go apologize and give it back too. :o :o :o

my mom told me that she and one of her friends picked flowers from a neighbor and SOLD them around the same age!!! :p

This is really awful, but I used to steal them from the cemetery next door. Of course I stopped when I got old enough to realize how weird and wrong that was.:(

When we first moved into the house I grew up in ( Iwas about 6), I took flowers and ROCKS from the wonderful old couple who lived next door. They had such pretty little rocks and I kept taking them and making stuff with them. I did give some of my "art" to the lady though, she really liked it.
