Did Adam Lambert just kill his career before it even started?

It actually wasn't different. Janet Jackson's crotch grabbing was not her own crotch, it was a full on crotch grab of another male dancer. No one has said a word about it. He was standing in front of her, she reached under between his legs and grabbed his crotch.

I just sat through all 7 excruciating minutes of her performance to see what you are talking about. She does not grab his crotch. She reaches for his shirt and pulls it down. I still think what Adam did to the female dancer hanging from the bar and what the other female dancer did to him was more blatant. Not to mention the other part that was cut for those of us out west.

What did he do to the female dancer? People who were there says her costume was full of snaps and buckles and he pulled a buckle. There was nothing sexual there only what people thought they saw. The problem was that only people who were at the show could see exactly what he was doing. I'll quote another poster "Just a clarification of the female crotch grab (one of the View women said he used his finger on a female dancer) and I'm assuming that was the dancer above the chair - I was at the show and on the in-theatre video screens we could see her costume in detail. She had buckles and straps all over, including her crotch. Adam fondled her leg, then grabbed onto one of the buckles and pulled it".

The poster goes on to say that the Janet Jackson act was much more obvious.

I guess we see what we want to see. I didn't see anything worse in what Adam did than what Janet did.

I still thought the whole thing was a hot mess but not for those reasons. I would have prefered something more like the music video to For Your Entertainment.

I also think the album is great and I did purchase it even though his performance on the AMA's wasn't my cup of tea. It is now #3 on the Itunes charts.

I was disgusted, my DH was disgusted, my teenage DD was disgusted and she was a huge fan...I'm pretty sure it's expected(and maybe desirable) for the new acts to disgust the parents, but when you drive away your fan base in order to get attention...it seems like a bad marketing plan!

How would you like to see that script for that performance??

OK Adam...you drive the leashed, masochists over to the left of the stage, then gyrate over to this point and shove dancer B's face into your crotch a few times...etc.:lmao:

Meh that happened to all the popular finalist. People will buy the first album out of curiousity. But it's a matter of staying power. You can't judge it by the initial release. Adam was a favorite, so naturally the Idol loyaltist will rush for the first album.

didn't David Archuleta outsell David Cook in the first week or something?? and now what's Archuleta doing? i haven't heard anything from him in forever, but David Cook is still on tour(and STILL has no date for Buffalo...i'm dying here!)

Archuleta is touring right now, and toured all summer, and has a Christmas CD. I personally can't stand him, but he is still showing up all over the place. He's very big on Radio Disney. I always turn the station when he comes on LOL.

I hope he killed his career. That was gross but I have always found him annoying. For some reason I always think "demented Ethel Merman" when I hear him hollering! Or "freaky Goth Liza Minelli." Just weird.

:thumbsup2 Summed it up perfect for me! Never did like his Scream Singing anyway...:sad2: He's going by way of Fantasia I believe...which means we won't be seeing/hearing too much from him!:thumbsup2:yay:

Honestly, that's the only thing that made me cringe when I watched the performance. It was not, by far, his best performance vocally. And he's admitted that after the fact.

As far as we've supposedly come in this country, there are things we are still rather intolerant about. Boy on boy seems to be one of them. While I can agree, it's probably not 'classy' to simulate oral sex (regardless of which sex it may be with) on national tv, I don't think it's something he should be vilified for and I don't think it's going to end his career. If R. Kelly can pee on a teenager and still have some semblance of a career, I think Adam Lambert is going to be ok. If anything, this 'controversy' is only going to give him a lot of press right when he's releasing his first album.

ding ding ding we have a winner...way to market yourself Adam. Some may see it as a dumb move but it sure did get his name out there didn't it...perfect timing

i never hear anything about Archuleta. but tbh, i never hear much about any of the Idol alumni except Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood(bleh!), and Chris Daughtry(bleh again!) and of course David Cook....

i just had to mention that i was watching Extra and they interviewed Adam about this whole thing and he's going on about how he's "not a babysitter" and he also went on to say that Lady Gaga's performance was just as "scandalous" as his because she was "breaking whiskey bottles on a piano"

uhhh....ok Adam....whatever helps you sleep better at night i guess :confused3

I'm going to agree with most people and say the singing was pretty bad, especially after the great voice we saw on AI.

However, as for the preformance.... while I can understand why some people are so mad I don't see what the problem is....he kissed a boy... whats the big deal?! He likes boys! Theres no need to tar and feather the guy for his sexual orientation. At least he's gay and kissing a boy and not just doing it for show (ie - britney and madonna)

I dont have a problem with the preformace, and as someone who's friends with alot of younger gay men, I know they were quite pleased with the preformace because it was so in your face.

Why is it that people are assuming, obviously without reading the other posts first, that all we're complaining about is him kissing another guy???? Especially when we've stated otherwise?

I may like Lady Gaga's music but I can't stand her stage performances after being subjected to them live....

I have NEVER liked Madonna. Period.

Britney, I wouldn't see in concert either but like her music.

Adam: don't like the stage performance but haven't heard his album so can't judge on that aspect.

well, all in all I think that he did acomplish getting attention...obviously his main goal. I personally think he was over the top for a general audience show but given the standards of the world today :confused3
He was much better on Letterman a few nights ago. I don't know, did he kill his career, well he certainly pushed the envelope and IMHO, I think he moved the gay community 2 steps back..I mean, people have been trying for so long for equality and he on one of his most imprtant appearances, trashed it up in a disrespectful manner to any sexual orientation. I will give him kudos for a nice recovery on the fall. He may need those same skills on handling his career. He has the talent, but he did just narrow his audience a bit. Thsie who were on the fence about him may have just said, nah, still don't like him.

Adam was scheduled to appear on Good Morning American tomorrow morning. I received an e-mail from their audience coordinator stating that they have cancelled his appearance.

As I previously stated, I personally didn't have a problem with his performance on the AMAs. But, unfortunately, I guess ABC received alot of complaints.

I wonder if this is going to hurt or help him.

I would have missed seeing him had he been on Good Morning, America.

My morning news show of choice is The Early Show, so I was happy to be able to see Adam several times during the show, and to hear him sing two songs of his CD. I enjoyed him on American Idol, and even though he's a bit "over the top" for my taste, I still like his music.

I listened to his entire CD, off his website, and I do plan to buy it...if I don't get it for Christmas. :)

I have to get this off of my chest here, you may not like what I have to say, but I honestly don't give a rats rear about what you all think about what my comment will say. Anyway, for those of you who support what Adam Lambert did at the AMA's, you people are really sick.

'Nuff said.

What makes you think we care about what you think :confused3

It's because some people actually do care about what others think.

nah, we just like to be entertained.....:thumbsup2 He rocked it, although he didn't sound as good as usual, but neither did anyone who performed that night.
