Hi, this is my first post here, as well as going for the first time to WDW w/my 12yo son. I have been on a few other sites and am trying to do a crash course in WDW info... (planned trip at last minute for 6/21-6/29.)
I have read a few posts that mention food discount coupons. Could someone please tell me how to get these. and if they are only available to DVC members???

Also wondering if $1000 is enough play cash to bring along. On somewhat of a budget since this was not a planned trip. I know to keep a watch on souveniers and the like, but I only have 4 PS dinning booked (Boma (brkfst), Ohana(din), The Plazaon Main St(din), Coral Reef(lun). The rest I figured we can wing it but even so I am averaging about $100 per day. Is this enough for the two of us???
Pleez help, I,m starting doubt my sanity:crazy:

I think you mean meal vouchers(not really a discount, just read)

There are three types of vouchers:
Breakfast: good for any sitdown breakfast including the character meals (not at Swan/Dolphin) and these are 17.75

quick&casual: these are good for almost all the counter service restaurants at the parks(except some carts) and many of the food courts in resorts. Good for one entree, side, drink, dessert for 11.50

Kingdom luncheon: good for sit-down restaurants in parks/resorts but only for lunch. They are 30.00 we do not usually have a big lunch so these were not for us. They are for lunch only at one of the sit-downs in WDW.

We have used the breakfast and q&c and love them. Nice to have some meals pre-paid. CM know about them and you don't have any problems using them. They also include tax and gratuity so they are good deal in that respect.

We were Connections members (yearly membership was $79.00) and always had great service from them; although others have had issues. If you join for a trial $1/one month, make sure you cancel on time or they will charge you for the year. You can buy up to 40 of each kind of voucher per year. They increased the yearly fee significantly ($139/yr) so I did not rejoin. They also had great discounts on park passes at IOA, US and WDW along with Blockbuster, TOYRUS and other restaurants so we have gotten our $79! Hope this helps. We have seen people selling these vouchers for WAY over value at e-bay. I don't recommend that.
Floridaorlandotickets.com now sells these at a higher price than connections but they are the same vouchers; Hotwiresavings (got to Hotwire.com and there is a link) sells them at the same price as connections. There is no fee with Floridaornadotickets.com and Hotwire has a $1 trial monthly membership. WE DO LOVE HAVING THESE AND used 6 BREAKFAST AND 12 Q& C TO USE FOR OUR 12/28-1/02/04 TRIP.

Almost forgot!
DVC members do get discounts at many restaurants thru out WDW, but it is not a voucher..you show your membership card or room key that says member on it. We are DVC members also and love that perk.
