I just want to remind everyone that you are all invited to the fourth annual meeting for disney friends - or for a beer on the beach, which ever takes your fancy 
This has been a very popular event in previous years, with people travelling from all around the country to attend.
We will be meeting in South Shields on the beach the weekend of July 24/25th. Some of us will be there on Friday night as well, but the main meet will kick off about 10am on the beach.
We will have the usual array of beach side activities, cricket, and rounders for the athletic ones, burying Phil in the sand for the kids, and lots of chat and holiday planning for the rest of us.
If you are feeling more adventurous, there is a very small fairground nearby, a lovely park for the kids, and the last few years there has been a free concert in the park, but I haven't been able to confirm if that is on again this year.
In addition,it is the weekend of the air show, so we should get to see the Red Arrows.
There are pubs in the area for lunch, or you can pick up picnic supplies from Asda in the morning - you can also pick up a comfy deckchair that you will never be able to fold up again (still in the garden, unfolded!) and possibly a HUGE parasol to keep yourself shaded - Asda is a bit of a Northern Meet ritual.

Friday night: Meeting at the Little Haven Hotel
Satuday: Daytime, on the beach
Saturday Night: Curry on Ocean Road
Sunday: Back to the beach, possibly check out the concerts if they are on, or a visit to the fun fair for the little ones.
