For my 17 month on the 4 day Wonder. How many did you all take and did you pack them in your suitcases, big space taker? I don't want to look like National Lampoon with a 48 count pack of Pampers under my ara .

All babies are different so I wouldn't want to generalize, but here's what I did:

I actually did a diaper inventory for a few weeks before we left to get an idea of how many we use per day. Allowing for a margin of error we estimated about 6 diapers per day. We also packed swim diapers and overnights. I don't know why, but we brought about half that much back with us. So much for my scientific approach.

Even though they do take up a lot of room in your luggage, it should equate to free space coming home that can be used for souvenires.

We also try to estimate how many diapers we need per day and then add a few extras. I usually plan on about 6 to 7 per day. Don't forget to include travel days! They pack tighter if you can keep them in the original package. Have you noticed how they "expand" when you open a package?

Don't fret too much about the exact number you will need as you will not get it just right. You will either run out and have to buy some more or you will bring home lots.

We made a grocery stop at the Publix at Cocoa Commons and bought 1 pkg. of diapers. I packed overnights and swim diapers in the suitcase. We brought a collapsable duffel bag and loaded it with drinks and diapers so we didn't have to use the space on the airplane. The baggage handlers treated it as "checked" luggage so we didn't have to haul it with us!

I don't remember if we brought any back. We also had to pack formula (ready to feed in the reclosable plastic bottles), that took a TON of space, but it left space for souvenirs!

They do carry Huggies and Similac and Isomil on the Magic.

Why the overnights? I've never had a problem using regular diapers at night. Just curious!

as soon as you get to your stateroom, ask your host/hostess for a Diaper Genie. Just one bad diaper can really stink up those small rooms. You couldn't empty the trash often enough for me! The Diaper Genie worked great!

We also made a grocery stop on the way and actually just carried the plastic grocery bag on with us. I think I brought a bunch of diapers home with me. I also took swim diapers.

They did have diapers in the little convenience section of Treasures Ketch in case you underestimate. (or run into problems) I'm sure they are expensive, but at least they are available.

We were at the Dolphin for 4 days & then the 7 day cruise. We purchased a 48-pack at the Target at the Florida Mall, and also a pack of swim diapers. I had a duffel bag packed in a suitcase; and I put the remainder of the diapers in the duffel bag, along with several bottles of water left over from a case we purchased. It was really heavy, with a half a case of bottled water + the diapers, but we checked with with our bags & it was delivered to our cabin with our luggage. The diapers on the shelf in Treasure Ketch were really expensive; if I recall it was about $8 for 10 diapers.

We packed about 50 diapers for the 7 day cruise + swim diapers. I got one of those vacuum space bags and put the diapers in it. I then "sucked" all the air out of the bag with the vacuum which made it MUCH smaller. I laid them out in the shape I wanted (long rectangle to fit at the bottom of my rolling duffle) and it fit perfectly. For returning home, we did not need the vacuum since we had used most of the diapers.

There are also places in port (a Kmart in St. Maarten I believe??) that you can buy more diapers while on the Eastern itinerary and I am sure somewhere on the Western as well. I am sure they are more expensive than at home but still cheaper than on board

What about formula? i use similac and go back and forth between powdre and ready to feed depending where I am.Ready to feed is probably more convenient but the can of powder is smaller and doesn't need to be heated.Do they see bottled water on board?Is it expensive enough that I should bring my own

We used the Isomil ready-to-feed. It was easy and the reclosable bottle will fit in the cooler/fridge. If money is no object, I would do the 8 oz. cans. That's truly luxury! I don't know for sure about the water, I think you can buy bottled water.

We packed the bottles in ziploc bags to protect stuff in case of leaks, this did not happen!

I didn't even know thta made 8 oz cans as ds is only 7 weeks old and only taking 6oz at a time right now. That is a great idea and I am sure worth the money for the cruise.
