Hi! I could use some advice....what did you take in your diaper bag? We are traveling with a 2 1/2 year old boy and 4 1/2 year old boy....

On my list I have:
a few diapers (are they available for sale in the park anywhere in case we run out?)
diaper wipes
sunscreen
antibacterial wipes
snacks
camera (digital and camcorder)

what have I missed? Also, do you take a bag with a long strap and loop it over the stroller (we'll be renting a double one) or use a backpack?

Thanks for your help!!! We leave Saturday--staying at AKL---first trip for all of us!!! yay!!!

I always bring an extra outfit for each kid. The one time I did run out of diapers was at DTD. They only had one size for sale, it came in a little package with 2 or 3 diapers and a coupl of wipes. It was really expensive. I now carry a lot more diapers than I think I will need. Depending on the time of year I also carry insect repellent.

Extra set of clothes.( you can always get a shirt or shorts. My dd needed a shirt and we bought one saying it was "my first trip to Disney".
Q-Tips a couple just incase.

The baby centers are great, so if you forget something or just need a place to change your child go to a center. The CMs are helpful. So don't painic if left something in the room.

I'd also recommend a change of clothes for each. Whenever we go some place for the day I always take a change of clothes for DD in a large ziploc bag. If the outfit is needed the bag can do double duty as a laundry bag.

You might also want to throw in a few small toys to keep them occupied in lines or while waiting for shows/parades etc. A little notebook with stickers and a pen or pencil might do the trick or maybe a few small cars or bendable figures. Also glow necklaces are great for evening parades and fireworks.

I would definitely bring more diapers than you think you'll need. The price for diapers isn't worth buying them, rather than carrying a few extra (IMHO).

And I recommend one or 2 sippy cups of juice. Or you can freeze bottles of water & bring them with you to the parks and drink them as they thaw.

A change of clothes is also a great suggestion. My DS had a problem & needed new shorts on our last trip. You'd be surprised how hard it is to find 2T shorts in any color at the Animal Kingdom! Maybe it was b/c I was in a bit of a panic, running around with my DS in his diaper, but I couldn't believe there were no shorts for sale for little kids!

I always bring double the diapers I need and a change of clothes for both kids. I put each kids outfit in their own ziplock bag. DH laughed at me 2 trips ago when I did this. After ds threw up at dinner (bc he let him have 3 glasses of Chocolate Milk ), dh was thinking my idea of putting the outfits in baggies was great, no smell, no mess and we were able to take the outfit to our room and wash it. Of course if we didn't have a washer in our room we I would have just thrown the outfit away. (I don't do well with puke.)

We used a backpack diaper bag last year- it was so easy to carry around on our backs (plus I had my wallet, etc. in there so I didn't want to leave it in the stroller when we went on rides, etc.)

Definitely a spare outfit, maybe include bathing suits in case you get to one of the wetter parks (Donald's boat area in MK comes to mind.) We forgot them last year, so we skipped over those!

We used a backpack and loved it. HELPFUL HINT: If you sling a diaper bag over the handle of the rental double-stroller, the stroller might fall backwards when your kids aren't in it (when your kids are in it, no problem!). I have a 5 year old and 2.5 year old, the younger one in diapers. The only item I can add to the above lists is a portable, folding potty seat for your older child. We have one that folds up pretty small, and we kept in in a gallon-size Ziplok in our backpack. My son won't use a public restroom without one. Public toilets can be especially difficult to use because the seats are usually U-shaped so the kid can't perch on the end of the seat like they might anywhere else in an emergency.

I would add diapers, hats (unless they already have them on), outfits, extra diaper wipes (can be used to wash up and treat stains), and flip flops/water shoes if you are bringing their bathing suits to play in the fountains.

I usually pack some snacks (gram crackers, fruit snacks, etc) and juice boxes..this will save some $$ in the parks!!

I just bring exactly what I normally keep in my diaper bag (wipes, diapers for two days [just in case], spray sunblock for reapplication [I apply the lotion in the morning as a base coat before leaving the room], an extra facial sunblock stick, a small toy or two and a small board book [this is more for dining], a couple of snacks, two sippies [one for juice & one for milk, rinsed with water after use], disposable changing pad [x2 in case one gets yucky], 2 disposable stick on placemats for the baby's food at meals, small first aid kit [no water cleaning solution, neosporin, a couple of band aids], anti-bacterial hand sanitizer) and then I add an extra change of clothes per child & 2 swim diapers for the baby. The kids always wear hats...

Believe it or not, I use a small diaper bag. I, personally, have but do not like the backpack type diaper bags. It's just too hot, and sometimes very inconvientent to get to items in the diaper bag quickly. But that is just my opinion.

Pack everything in ziplock bags.

We have gone on several trips wih our DDs. (*now 2 and 4 1/2)

We pack stuff in a mesh bag we bought @ Target (very easy for security to see through). Inside the mesh bag all of their stuff is in ziplock bags.

*several changes of clothing (it can really smush down in the ziplock bag)

*first aid stuff: bandaids, etc.
*sunscreen
