OK - first timer here. We're traveling with a baby who is a year and a half. We'll be there a week... do we UPS a package with a box of diapers and other essentials instead of pack them along? They'll take up alot of space for a week, and we're not renting a car... no quick trips to Target I'm assuming since we're staying onsite. What do I do??? Any help would be appreciated!

We almost always send a box down to the resort. We send diapers, wipes, sippy cups, baby food if needed, snacks, swim diapers etc. I think ti was the best piece of advice I ever got off the Dis for traveling with small children. Have a great trip!

We just packed them last time. That will give you more room for souviners on your way home because the diapers will be gone.

We just pack them with us. However, this trip as we have 2 kids we have purchased the baby's diapers (along with the rest of our groceries as we're staying at FW... gradengrocer.com) to be delivered to the resort. We considered doing this with our oldests diapers but are unsure of what she'll be in then. But as we fly we always bring the necessities with us. We'
ve considered sending them but never get around to doing so.

When our youngest was still in diapers we packed just enough to travel there and then bought a big pack of diapers & wipes in Orlando. We had a car service that stopped at a grocery store on the way to the resort but it sounds like an online grocery is the way to go now. Have fun!

What I have done is about 2 or 3 weeks before I ship my box, I keep tract of how many diapers I changed that day.

I then add about 2 per day & 2 extra days worth just in case.

I have always taken diapers home with me & I just make sure I don't over pack my bag on the way down.

If renting a car is at all doable I would go that route.

Last year we took ME to the resort and then picked up the car at a hotel in DTD. It was SOOOOO nice to zip around property with a little one. We made a quick Walmart run. We saved tons of time avoiding buses.

A cab ride to Walmart might not cost too much either.

Just have a back up plan in the event that your package gets lost in the shuffle.

we just used gardengrocer last week. I was able to order diapers, wipes, jucie and milk, snacks and some breakfast food for the room. Best thing I ever did! :thumbsup2 They deliver to the resort and if they get there before you are in your room they leave it with Bell Services. Once you are in your room, call Bell Services and they'll bring it all up to your room.

Well, not for Disney, but for a cruise (which we flew in to), we packed enough diapers for a week and a half (week long cruise, but just in case) and assorted supplies in our suitcase. As another poster points out, that gave us room for the extra souvenirs, and just basic extra needed space.

How do you ship them down? Do you just ship them to the hotel you are staying at in your name? What info do you put on the box?

Check with your resort. We stayed at the GF in Oct and DS#2 was 1yr. I took enough diapers with me but did wind up needing balmex(forgot to pack) and a few other things. The GF has a driver who just goes around to stores and pharmacies. They got my items free of charge(except of course for the cost of the actual items) and I had them in a few hours right in our room. They left me the receipt and then charged the items to my room. Very convenient. Also if you are a member at DVC when you make your res you can give them a grocery list and they have it for you a check in. Have fun!!

Thank you all SO much for the information. I haven't decided if we want to pack, ship or use Garden Grocer... it's nice to have all the options! Thanks again. :thanks:
