I had kind of been going round and round about what to use for a diaper bag for our upcoming WDW trip. Last time we took a backpack and it was always full of *junk*. Stuff we didn't really need that you had to paw through to get to the diapers and wipes, and it was hard to tell when you were out of diapers, so I ran out one day at MK.
Someone susggested a photographer's vest at one point, and I thought it was kind of a wierd idea. However - it works *wonderfully*. I got http://www.rei.com/online/store/Pro...69&parent_category_rn=4501412&vcat=REI_SEARCH and used it for a day trip to a local amusement park. I haven't carried a "normal" diaperbag since.
To give you an idea of what it holds - currently it has:
3 take and toss straw cups with lids and a ziplock baggie of straws
some napkins for the inevitable toddler mess
a sandwich baggie of craisins
a sandwich baggie of cheesie poofs
a sandwich baggie of dry cereal
my full size rain jacket (in a stuff sack)
a rain jacket for the toddler
4 diapers
a generous sack of wipes
a onesie, pair of shorts, pair of socks, pair of sandals
a little bitty bottle of baby sunscreen for touchups
When I go out I put 2 bottles of water (16 oz) into it also. It has internal pockets that run the entire length and width of the front - perfect for stowing park maps and times guides into. I'll also slip in a sheet with my ADRs printed on it.
It doesn't feel heavy and when I'm tired of wearing it I can slip it over the handles of my Maclaren Volo and it hangs low enough that it doesn't make the stroller tip over without hanging so low that it knocks against the wheels.
