Diaper changing question

Not trying to start trouble at all. I was just reading another thread that mentioned the 'tabletop diaper changing incidents' and got to wondering, where exactly is it 'okay' to change a diaper. Obviously the tables are out. Last trip though, I changed DD in her stroller while she was watching EE come down the hill. I had her off to the side and I stood in front of her so anyone looking had a very limited view. And it was just a pee diaper. I would not attempt a 2 year olds poop diaper in the stroller. And it was our stroller, I would not do this with a borrow or rented stroller. But I'm just wondering what people do and don't find acceptable as diaper changing locations.

I am a bit of a wizz with changing bums, if I am near a changing room, I will go in and use the changing table, if not I find a seat (not near a heap of other peope) pull the stroller in between my legs and change it there.

I don't very often change a wet one unless bubs is little or they have been drinking a lot. My youngest is 2.5 and doesn't move when having his bum changed. If he was a wiggly one I wouldn't use a stroller.

I am not a germ worrier, so I don't use change mats etc on the change tables, however, that said I do think it is totally unacceptable to change baby on a table.

Personally owned stroller, perfectly okay. :thumbsup2 I also use the new diaper as a "changing pad" for the old one by sliding it under the bum before the old one comes off. That way even if there is poop, there's no getting it on the stroller.

We do the same thing. :thumbsup2

Sometimes I prefer using my own stroller to change the kids...public changing tables creep me out a bit - depending on where I am.

I'm not a fan of public changing tables either. I will change my baby IF I have to, on a changing pad. I've change my lil one in our stroller, have borrowed my hubby's lap (depending on how big baby is of course).

I have changed DD in a stroller in an out of the way area at WDW (my own stroller) have also changed DD in a privatish corner of MCO on a changing pad. If it's your stroller and your child is "hidden" form view go for it.

Sometimes you can't make it all the way to a bathroom/changing table. I traveled alone with DD frequently, so hualing luggage stroller and child all the way down the terminal to find a bathroom wasn't always in the cards. BUT on a table in the middle of a busy counter service? ARE YOU KIDDING ME GROSS!

Are you people seriously saying that you've seen babies being changed on RESTAURANT tables??!!:scared1: If I ever saw that, I would have to say something to the parent about their serious lack of judgement.:sad2:

I am not a germophobe, but basic hygene would tell you to keep diapers away from food areas. It's bad enough that hardly anyone washes their hands after changing babies or going to the bathroom themselves.

Needless to say, I've never done that. I have changed a baby(on a changing pad) on restroom changing tables, benches, strollers, floors, etc. Basically I try to find a spot that's not near too many people so they aren't grossed out.

I always changed my 2 in at the change stations because I HAVE to wash my hands before and after changing them
hand sanitizer just will not cut it after a BM diaper to me
To me its just like me going to the washroom and not washing my hands after

I have seen diapers changed on tables, on rides and hineys rinsed in "baby bidets (known as drinking fountains to the rest of us).

Why use a changing table those have "germs" it is so much better to change a diaper on a table where people eat.:lmao:

Same here, they taught us that when DD was in the NICU. Works like a charm.

TMI! TMI! I sooooo did not want to know this.:scared1:

I've felt guilty about sometimes changing my little ones on a diaper pad on an out of the way park bench. It would never even occur to me to change them in a restaurant or use a drinking fountain for such a disgusting purpose.

From now on, I'll be the crazy lady pulling out her clorox wipes before she can fill her water bottleor sit at the table. :rotfl:

Save yourself and just go to any counter service place. They will give you free ice water. (baby bottom free):thumbsup2

I don't like using the changing tables, so I either use the stroller(also using the clean diaper as a changing pad) or now that she's nearly 2, if it's wet only, I just change it while she's standing up in the bathroom.
