having been to Disney World so many times, we are looking for some things we've never done before ...... how is the Diamond Horsehoe? Menu photos look like HDDR, is it a fun experience? There are very few restaurants we haven't tried yet, but this is one of them.

We ate there last summer, and enjoyed it. It was a lunchtime walk up in June, there might have been 2 other tables seated. The food was good BBQ, served family style. Plenty to go around and they bring you as much as you can eat. The scenery was a hit with the kids and the adults enjoyed a not crowded restaraunt with great attention from the staff. I don't eat beef, but the other members of my party thought the brisket was great. I enjoyed the rest of the meal. I will probably go again on our september trip.

We went in January of 2017. Two adults and two kids (8 and 4). It was very 'quiet' and practically empty when we were there. The kids loved the food - basic BBQ, salad, corn. (That was 'worth it' for me.) I thought it was just ok food wise. We booked the play/stay/dine package but I personally wouldn't pay out of pocket for it. I enjoyed Skippers Canteen much more (better food better atmospher). The servers were wonderful though!! As for atmospher, the place was nice, bright and spacious but that was about it. I wonder if it would be loud if full. There was a 'self playing' piano but that was about it. I found it somewhat lacking. Odd thing - there is no restroom inside the restaurant. You have to go outside to use the facilities. Which is no big deal - unless you have kids (who always need to go at least once every meal!)

It was a nice, quiet place that served basic BBQ family-style. I ate three servings of cornbread! MMMM And the self-playing piano is rather fun!

I haven't been there myself but on our last trip, while we had dinner at BOG, my parents ate at Diamond Horseshoe and they actually really enjoyed it. They said the food was great and they'd go again.

Thanks, we may just give it a try! Anyone know if they offer an AP discount? I don't see it in my little booklet so I am guessing not, but I would think that they would as there are multiple reports that it is never crowded.....

We just went there on our last trip which was June 2017 and we loved it! The service was fantastic and the food was great! I would definitely give it a try!
