I see where they are opening the Diamond Horseshoe on select days. Is there a chance they will reopen? It was a fun lunch spot.

Probably not. They use it for storage and meetings when it's not being used by the public during peak times. I'm sure Disney does not want to spend the money to reopen it permanently.

Here's what I read in allears.

Magic Kingdom has Two Extra Dining Locations between 8/24 - 9/25/08.

Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe - will be open for dinner on Aug. 24, 31, Sept. 7 and 14, 2008 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.. Dinner will be buffet style featuring breads, salads, pastas and carved to order Chimichurri Beef Strip Loin. Dinner is $35.00 for adults, and $18.00 for those ages 3-9. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, this is counts as one Table Service meal.

Diamond Horseshoe - will be open for dinner from Aug. 24-31, and Sept. 13-25, 2008 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Dinner will be family-style, all-you-care-to-eat, and will feature roasted turkey breast, carved beef, pork loin, and mashed potatoes. Dinner is $28.99 for adults, and $14.99 for those ages 3-9. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, this is counts as one Table Service meal.

So it looks like it'll only basically be open limited times during free DDP. (8-24 to 9/25)

ADDED-I was thinking of trying DH but it won't be open while I'm there (9/2 to 9/11) bummer!

I thought Free Dining ended Sept 20 this year! It scares me that they're having to open two additional dining options through the 25th. I guess that means the parks are going to be super busy. We're planning on going the 22-26 and I purposely chose those dates because I thought it would be after Free Dining and before the Food and Wine Festival. Please, someone ease my worries!!!

Unfortunatly, it does not end on Sept 20th. Arrival day had to be on or before the 20th of Sept. I am arriving for free dining 9/19-9/29 & might add another day or two. I am thinking that restaurants will be busier so that's why they added the extra table service but September is one of the slowest months otherwise.
