I really miss this, we used to go in order a sandwich, have a great laugh, and watch the Can-Can Girls! The last time I was there, we went and it had changed, not sure what it was, something for the little ones, it was very cute. I just miss the old show they had! :(

I loved that old show!! We were there on our honeymoon (almost 26 years ago) and I have pictures of DH being 'talked to' by one of the show girls. What a great time we had! :sunny:

That was such an awesome show! My dad is pretty bald, and I remember as a kid we went to the show. Well, one of the dancers came over and laid this huge kiss on the top of his head and it left these bright red lip marks right on top! :rotfl: She wouldn't let him wipe it off until we got outside. :lmao: I never heard the reasoning behind it closing (it went from table service to counter service and then closed all together). Anyone know? :confused3

This was my very first "insider" tip about WDW. I remember reading about needing to make reservations at a podium next to Tony's in Town Square, and I was so excited to do it!! Then later, when people were being turned away at the door, I felt so pleased that I had figured out the "inside info"!!!!

That was a fun show!

I never saw it when they had dancing girls but it sure doesn't sound like something that fit in with the family friendly Magic Kingdom. At least what I read as peoples expectations of a family friendly Magic Kingdom. I likely wouldn't have any problem with it.

DL still has a show (and food), but more it's a comedy variety show, no dancing girls. :(

WDW (in 2004) had turned into a very lame show with Woody and Jessie from Toy Story. A real shame considering the popularity of the characters.

cardaway, there was nothing even PG rated about the dancing girls. It was "hoop-de-doo-ish" in its comedy presentation. Think the women from POTC without any of the implied rape and pillage theme!!!

I was only able to catch this show once but I truly miss it. It was a really fun show. I hadn't been to WDW in years after I saw it, so when I went back in 2004 I was really excited to see it again. I was pretty bummed that it closed. :(

I agree with cardaway that the show there now is kind of lame. But maybe with the Pixar merge it will be revamped. :confused3

Except that those girls were representing the strippers of that time period. But it's a good sign if people were overlooking that, or sad if they dumped them because people complained. This is the company that stopped shooting the hippo to be PC. :crazy2:

I miss that, too! So many favorites have been eliminated or changed. I guess Disney has something to gauge what's popular and what's not, but I think it's been broken for a number of years now. Or, maybe some of us just aren't the majority anymore.

Eh, it was an innocent saloon show and fit in nicely with the frontier image of the land it's in. It was also something unique which another character show certainly isn't.

That's gone now too. I loved the original show with the Can Can girls. It really was quite family friendly. Then the went to the more improv type variety show. Was nice and enjoyed that. Then that stupid Toy Story thing. Hated that. They way they had it set up for interpreting for someone like me was horrible because people were always blocking the interpreters. Only way to see them clearly was to be up on the second level which is impossible in a wheelchair.
Wish they would go back to the original show or the variety show.

If I am not mistaken, I think it is now just a 'meet and greet'.

That's all it was during our visit last month.

I never saw the original show...or the Toy Story one for that matter...but DS2 was thrilled to have lots of one-on-one time with Jessie and Woody a few weeks ago. :goodvibes
