Diamond Head State Monument will now require reservations for out-of-state visitors. The new rule will go into effect May 12, 2022. The new reservation system is intended to reduce hiker and vehicle congestion. Residents wanting to visit the state monument will NOT be impacted.

Just read this,,,,we go in July,,guess I need a Genie+ now for this.

I recommend stalking the ressie site mercilessly…but….the Maui state parks announced reservations going into effect in a certain date, able to be made on x date, and it’s X plus about three weeks now and they’re still not live. So keep watching but it might not even happen before you go. But honestly it’ll likely be less crowded if it does. I also saw that Hanauma Bay is now closed two days a week instead of one….but can’t remember which two.
