Diamond Head parking

I know about the reservations needed getting into the park. But the parking option is full. Is there parking close by? What distance of walk are we looking at. Can I drop my family off and then go find parking so it is only me walking the extra? Is the KCC parking lot b available for anyone who pays?

Was just there last week and we took the Trolley, however I wish we would have just driven. There were parking spots outside of the reserved Park area and some in the neighborhood as well. That was at 10:00am on a weekday.
