Diagon Alley Grand Opening?

If one is staying onsite, be it at one of the Deluxes or Cabana Bay and have early entry, how is this handled during opening week. For example, say I have 1 hour early entry yet when I get to the park the line is already several hours long. Would there be a separate entrance for onsite guests or would the early entry be useless if one cannot get past the huge already formed lines.

I was staying onsite back opening day in 2010 of Hogsmead had the onsite guest enter the park l hour early and start lining up. Once the park was open they let the general line in (already 3-4 hours long). The hour early entry helped people avoid having to arrive 2/3 hours before the park opened just to line up.

We're at HRH from July 22nd to the 30th.

Do you think the crowds will die down by then? ....... :rolleyes1

Yeah ... I think we all know the answer to this one :lmao:
Soooo excited to surprise the kids with this trip!! :dance3:

First, Hi Aaron!! Thanks for starting this thread. We were hoping for soft opening at the end of this month. We will be there from May 29 and leave early in the morning of June 1st.

A friend of mind got a job in Diagon Alley and posted this to his Facebook today.

(He has to report to work next Wednesday!)

This gives me some hope that opening day is closer then we are expecting. Well at least the soft opening.

Nice find! I kept wondering why, with all the interest surrounding the project, no plane or helicopter or news crew ever did a fly-by to peak inside.

I mean, I understand possible aviation restrictions, but still, someone sooner or later was going to get close enough to shoot the project.

I love the look of everything, although I'm surprised it doesn't look more completed at this point given the possible mid- to late-June opening.

Wesh as posted above has the best album Ive seen so far. The other local news agencies have done it also, but not to the extent.

Ive seen pictures popping up on different sites here and there from aerial point of views.

The one thing that struck me was how tight and narrow the alleyways look. It could be an illusion because of some of the angles, but they just appeared tight to me.

Assuming that they did the same thing with DA, as HM, it is tight. I remember reading an article on HM not long after its opening saying that the(IIRC, the Disney Imagineers that toured HM were impressed with the details according to the article) tight alleys and tight stores were done to keep with the feel of movie.

Personally I don't like it that way as I walked into Olivanders looking for a gift for my son, and between the people with strollers who had a hard time navigating,(due to the narrowness of the aisles) and not being able to move around people, and walking around out side with all of the lines, its a little annoying. I understand the reason, but I think its a mistake being that narrow.

Booked our stay at RPH for June 17-18 today. I noticed that the terms of fast pass and early entry state Diagon Alley attractions and takes about both parks being open early for some attractions. Looking good for Mid-Late June onsite guest. Here is a screen shot of the fine print.
