I have not paid a lot of attention to the DDP because we are AP holders but now that it's available to us I am looking at it closely. What does Disney do for guests that can't eat the desserts?

I kind of wish they would give us the option of an appetizer OR a dessert.

Returned form WDW in Jan. I asked the same question, since I am a diabetic. None of the resteraunts we ate at would let me have an app. So I ended eating my daughters fruit on the childrens meal and she ate my dessert. The resteraunts have very little options for diabetics. Mostly all they had to offer on the dessert menu was sugar free icecream and then the server offered a fresh fruit option.

I got the number for the chefs at each restaurant and I am going to call ahead and see what they can do.

My younger son is a type 1 diabetic. If you call in advance and talk to them about dessert options that will be your best bet. They might be able to bring in something from another restaurant for you.

let me know how this works out for you. I can't imagine that they aren't able to be a little more attentive to those who are diabetic. you hear all of the time how they go out of their way to have special menus for those with allegies and such.

I just skipped the dessert. There was pleanty of food without it. I don't have dessert at home so I really did not miss it.

All of the table service restaurants and buffets we went to had some sort of suger free offering. Sometimes more than one or two. My daughter is type 1 and had no problem finding something for 9 days. She was in heaven!
