not sure if this is the right area but I have a question about taking my Diabetes test kit into the parks.
will Disney give me a problem with my bringing my test kit into the parks? also, do the restrooms have disposal containers for the needles/test strips? do I need to check in with anyone?

I don't know why they would have a problem with it, it's a medical necessity. I've seen sharps containers in restrooms.

There won't be any problem bringing your test kit into the parks. And every restroom I can recall had a sharps container. Also, you could go to one of the First Aid stations to do your testing.

My son has T1D and we haven't had any problems bringing his supplies into the parks. He's on a pump so doesn't use sharps and I couldn't comment on how that would go, but did see sharps disposal in rest rooms.

I've never had any problem with bringing my kit into the parks. I don't go into the bathroom or First Aid center to test or give myself shots, so I haven't used the sharps containers there. I always bring a large pill bottle with the safety cap on it to put my sharps in so I don't have to always run to the bathroom to dispose of my stuff. If you are staying on property, you can ask for a sharps container to be left in your room too.

I'm a diabetic and no park at WDW as ever said a word to me, so I say no problem, don't worry. I always bring my diabetic supplies..

My sister has T1D and she has never had any issues bringing her supplies into the parks. She's on a pump, but she does carry around her insulin pen in case of an emergency. All the rest rooms have sharps containers so you should be all set!

One time at bag check, the checker asked what the zippered container in my bag was. I told him it was a blood glucose meter, he said, "Oh," and that was it. That's the extent of anyone ever noticing or caring about diabetes supplies that's ever happened to me in the parks.

Thanks. I was planning to ask this same question soon but haven't since our trip isn't until. December. Very helpful!

We got a letter from my sons doctor but never needed it. I asked at the poly for a sharps container and they said they never saw them before. I thought I read they had them! We used an empty Gatorade bottle.

Also highly recommend the frio wallets for keeping the insulin cool. I was going to purchase one on Amazon, but tried our med supply co and the insurance paid for them.

We just took our first trip since DD was diagnosed and I was nervous about it, but everything went smoothly. I had her glucose meter and insulin in a zippered pouch and would just let security know what was in there. They never asked to open it. As for the sharps, I collected them through the day then would dispose of them in one of the restrooms.

Weird! I've gotten them at Port Orleans and Pop Century. But yeah, the bottle works fine, too.
