My sons are 3 and 6. On our last trip we only toured the MK, now I'm wondering if our next trip should include DHS. Is there enough for kids their ages to do? I think they'd love seeing McQueen and Mater, as well as the Handy Manny, Toy Story characters etc. Just not sure if we could make a full day of it though.

Maybe not a 12 hour day - but we always manage 6 or 8. My kids are 5 and 7 now and at DHS they love: Star Tours, Mermaid, Playhouse DIsney Live (they're a little old for it now - but we love it because it's tradition), muppets, The stunt show, and a family favorite is the Beauty and THe Beast show. We also like the parade and seeing the characters.

Of course, we love EPCOT and AK too...if you're going to add one park - I would make it EPCOT if I was you.

Definitely. You have:

Playhouse Disney Show
Toy Story Mania
MuppetVision 3D
Indiana Jones and Car Stunt Shows

If they are into thrill rides:

Star Tours
Tower of Terror
Rock N Roller Coaster

If they are into drawing there is the Animation Show

Great Movie Ride
Backlot Tour
Honey I Shrunk The Kids Playground

Luigi's Garage to meet Lightning McQueen and Mater

And I am sure I am missing a couple of things

We are going with our 5 yo DS in 4 1/2 weeks and we wouldn't miss DHS for anything

Plus..... the Power Rangers!!!! I'm not a PR fan, but this is one of the best meet and greets at WDW. Lots of fun.

My boys were 3 and 6 when we were at wdw in Jan.. Because of illness (ear infections for both ds) we only planned a half day at DHS. I wish we had not done that. We missed so much. The boys especially loved star tours, jedi training, muppets, playhouse disney ect.... We could have spent the whole day here with no problem. This was one of their favorite parks. It is a good park for young kids. :thumbsup2

My boys absolutely LOVE DHS and we go a few times a trip. They love Lights, Motor, Action, Muppet 3-D movie, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, etc. They love eating at Sci-Fi in the cars too. I always laugh when people say they did not like DHS but then they are always hunting Princesses.:rotfl2:

And don't forget the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. My kids love that.
My boys would spend hours in that when they were that age. It was one of the few things that they liked better than the pool... :lmao:

AWESOME! Thank you all for such great responses. Now I'm totally excited about DHS and we will plan to spend an entire day there for sure!:thumbsup2

We have 2 boys 7 & 4. They love doing all this stuff, they really do. But the last trip, I kept getting the comment that this was boring and they wanted rides. My response was "HS has attractions", They kept saying "they like rides not attractions!!" If your boys are into the rides, they might be disappointed.

DEFINITELY add DHS.......the boys will love it. When we went in 2006 my kids were 7 and 5 and they had a blast. We also went to Epcot with them and they constantly complained about being bored and that it was a "grown up place". This year, however, they have been asking about Epcot and reading about it alot, so hopefully we will have a better response.!!

I would say at your boys ages, I would plan to spend a few hours in ALL of the parks. There are things in every park that would entertain that age - especially your oldest. My dd is 5 and she's most looking forward to attractions at DHS and Epcot. My kids were 5.5 and turning 3 last trip and their favorite park was Epcot.

We plan to spend more time there this year with our 4 yr old son. He really seemed to like it last year.
