What is the best way to get to DTD from Hollywood Studios? We are staying at POR but I am not certain that going back to our resort and taking the boat to Downtown Disney would be the fastest and easiest route there. We are planning on a half day at DHS and then dinner and shopping at DTD for the evening. I guess I should mention that one member of our party has some issues with walking long distances. Thanks! :goodvibes

To avoid much walking, you could take a bus to SSR then to DTD, or bus to PC then to DTD.

Go to any resort and make a connection for Downtown Disney.

Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, Riverside+, French Quarter, Saratoga Springs, Boardwalk*,, Beach Club*, Yacht Club* are the most direct routes.

+ Transfer to bus or boat.
* Leave Hollywood Studios by boat; if boat is not there then chances are a bus to one of the other resorts will give a faster trip.
(others) Leave DHS by bus, transfer to a DTD bus.

Fredtom's way is probably the fastest, but another (easy though not fast) option is to boat to BW or BC/YC (whichever stop is first), and then catch a DtD bus from that resort.

Keep in mind that bus service to DtD is not as frequent generally as park buses, so make sure to budget at least 1 hour for the total trip (and I think I'm possibly being optimistic in that budget).

What I did on Monday: Caught the boat from DHS to YC, walked through the YC lobby and caught the DTD bus there. Be advised, though: I had about a half-hour wait for the DTD bus at YC (and there were a couple of people already waiting when I got to the stop). Multiple buses to MK and AK came and went while we unfortunate DTD travelers waited.

If I had owned a Harry Potter time turner, it would have been interesting to see if I'd been better off catching the bus at DHS to POFQ and taking the boat.

ALSO - I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this - On Monday, the DTD buses were dropping off at Pleasure Island (near Planet Hollywood) instead of Marketplace. There was signage indicating that the Marketplace bus stops were currently out of service (like this was a current construction/refurb situation?).

Going this route the first stop after DHS actually will be Swan/Dolphin. You'd be best to just get off there and go to DTD from there.

Hmmm...we may just head back to our resort and just take the boat or drive our car to DTD. I do know that they are currently undergoing a refurb at the Marketplace bus stops but I think they will be done by the time we get there. We are not in a hurry that day...it is our "down day" so it's not a huge deal if it takes a while to get there. Plus we will be with my parents and there will be no moving fast anywhere. :goodvibes Thanks for all the input!

Agree the best bet is go back to POR and take the boat or bus to DTD. DH & I have done the same thing staying at POFQ on several trips.

I'd take a cab. Probably about $20. Quick & easy.

If you have a car, I would probably just drive to DHS, and then drive to DTD.

DH doesn't drive to the parks...it's not that we can't, he just doesn't want to. He drives 16 1/2 hours to get us there and thats enough driving. We use Disney transportation all week. We have both driven and used Disney transportation to get to DTD, but more than once we circled the parking lot over and over to try to find a spot. There is just not enough parking at DTD during really busy weeks.
